I swear Rich, I am seriously starting to wonder how many personalities you have. You attempt to be altruistic and issue an amnesty yet now you allude to lopping my head off for what? Challenging the hypocrisy? Rich, I have always had respect for you even if I disagreed with your stance. But, if you are suggesting the "penalty" is banning me then I reckon I would have to care in order for me to actually consider it a penalty. I can show you posts where you were ADAMENT about nailing people over retaliatory feedback yet here you are condoning it. THAT'S the hypocrisy that I am referring to.
Rich, you have mods that don't deserve it. You know it, I know it, heck, everyone on here knows it. If you want to allow them to continue then it's your house. While I do not buy into the doom and gloom of some of the naysayers of Fauna, I do firmly believe that your house is becoming more and more difficult to quantify it's worth. The very simple fact that you disregard the input from some of the more respected members here only showcases that fact.
Truly and respectfully speaking Rich, can you quantify what worth this site has anymore? A significant number of mods that I have spoken to agree with this and many of those do not plan on re-upping their benefactor membership. I would not take a Benefactor level if it was free. Why? The forums that I watch rarely if ever have anything worth wild to comment on. 90% of the BOI is a farce. While I still have the belief that the underlying premise of the BOI is valuable, it's becoming less and less each day. Whether you want to admit that or not is your issue but I firmly believe deep down you see the writing on the wall should you not make some changes. The difference between June of 2005 (when I joined) and now is dramatic and it's NOT for the better. And you know what the reason is Rich? You! You stopped caring and so did everyone else. If you don't respect this site then why should we?
Rich, is this site really what you envisioned how many years ago. I believe the old Rich, the one who actually cared, would be dismayed at what the site has become. I believe he would have been dismayed at someone like Ed being a moderator. That he would be dismayed at the fact that he is now defending the actions of someone like him vs condemning it.
It's like being in the zoo. If the zoo did not have walls to keep the monkeys in then everything, including the flamingos would soon be covered in the monkeys poo. Too bad that poo keeps landing on the people that I consider to be worth so much more than the monkeys.
