    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Warning points

Well, I'm not exactly sure if this is true in ALL the classifieds forums, but I just created a thread in the Mammals Classifieds using a test account (which is a registered user only), and using the Classifieds Control Panel, I was able to hard delete that thread. I also looked through the moderator audit log and found that there is only one event in the Mammals Classifieds section recently, which was Ken Harbart locking a thread in that section.

So based on evidence I have been able to find, it is my opinion that the originator of that classified ad PERMANENTLY deleted their own thread in that section. Anyone else doing that would have showed up in the moderators log. Such actions being done by a member with their own thread does not show up in any such log that I am aware of.

Addressing the issue of moderators trying to MODERATE a thread in the classifieds section, that is entirely within their purview to do so. If a request is ignored to tone things down, then warning points are certainly justified. In all fairness, the moderators were not obligated to do a "pre-warning point warning" at all, and could have simply issued the warning point(s) immediately. The warning points are not the penalty for inappropriate actions on this site. THEY are the warnings that continued steps in the direction you are being warned against can result in the REAL penalty of being suspended from this site. It isn't called the "warning system" just from a random selection of combined words......

I wonder, all the derogatory remarks about the thread starter being and back yard breeder and how irresponsible the O.P. is, could be considered a debate? There was no debate. Stating in the Ad that nobody should purchase the thread starters animals couldn't be considered a debate either.

Griz, came in at the end and told both you and Lindsay (for the fifth time) to knock it off. Then Lindsay stated " You (Griz) drive the short bus out" . Then Ken locked the tread. You deserved the points.

Currently our dogs have not been Penn-hipped or OFA certified. This is something that I do plan on doing in the future. I also plan on showing but due to time constraints have not been able to show them yet(5 kids and finishing college). Please let me know if there are any other questions and my home is always open for

Those were my thoughts exactly!! I would not buy any medium or large breed dog without both the parents being ofa or penn-hipped. The problem is the average person does not know this and buys a dog for a ton of money only to be heartbroken later on. I can go to a reputable breeder and buy a puppy out of titled, fully health tested parents for that price, maybe even less. And that is exactly what my friend is doing. You should take some of that money you make from these puppies and at the least get the hips and the elbows checked, its only going to cost you about $200 for x-rays and I believe about $50 to send it in to the ofa.

What a bunch of bunk Marina. You cannot be so naive to believe that our memories won't last more than a few days. As numerous people have stated, both you and Jexx were out of line with Jexx being the worse offender. However, you also attacked the authors pricing of his animals telling people that they can find healthier dogs, with pedigree's, with champion parents, and with OFA certification for less money then the author had his listed for!

Don't come on here playing the innocent game. You got far less than you deserved.

I see that you have posted classifieds before for bearded dragons. What if someone posted similiar remarks and attacked you for not testing for adenovirus and then went into your pricing?

Would it be different being on the other end? Food for thought.
 
Actually, I had no clue about adenovirus when I posted that ad, but after being on this forum a little longer and seeing people discuss it, I am going to test my 2 beardeds prior to breeding them (I decided to keep that bearded since I got it at a reptile show and it was my first one, they are only 6 months old and I am waiting until I learn more and they are at least a year old). If someone came on my thread and asked me a legitimate question about health testing and said what I said, I would take it as advice. I guess I am not as sensitive as others and take critisizing well.

I do not have memory loss, lol, but like I said I do not believe I was out of line, yes I said you can definatelly get a BM thats out of proven health tested stock for less money. But hey thats the truth. I didnt say hey your dog is piece of s***, and you are an i***t.

In conclusion, ok I get it you have to be really nice and behave like an angel. If you should hurt someones feelings in any way you get warning points. Yes they told us to go to a dfferent part of the forum to discuss things further, we didnt. I really didnt know how this forum worked, usually I just come on here and read. Oh well you post and you learn. :thumbsup:

I find it kind of funny that you come here to complain after a couple of Mods asked you to knock it off and you ignored them.. What did you expect the Mods would do ??

Read John's post above.. It's not that you wanted to discuss the issues of HD but that you did it in someones add.

Things like what happened in that add go on to often around here and I'm glad to see that the Mods are cracking down on it .. Randy

Selective memory then. You WERE out of line and showed a lack of class. Here's what we will do. From now on, any classifieds that you post, and you do, I will be sure to ask you all of the relevant questions regarding testing, insult your knowledge, and make comments to potential buyers that they can buy animals for less money elsewhere. What's good for the goose, right?

Maybe you are better off reading vs posting as nobody is buying it.

Oh jeeze relax, and by the way I have absolutelly no problem with you asking any kind of question about any animal that I would try to sell on here, actually I am all for that as I believe consumers have the right to see all the facts.

My opinion differs from all of yours, and guess what that is totally ok. I didnt come on here asking to take my points away, I wanted to know why I was given them in the first place. As I already said I realize it was the wrong place to discuss that topic, but was unaware that this is how it worked.

YES I CRITISIZED THE PERSON, YES I GAVE MY OPINION, YES I POSTED IN THE WRONG PLACE IN THE FORUM, YES I IGNORED THE MODS WHEN THEY ASKED TO MOVE THE TOPIC. I do not deny any of that and never did, lol. However my points say "overly abusive towards another member" THATS THE PART I DONT GET.

I'm pretty much done with this topic as I feel we are all beating a dead, rotting horse. I like this forum, I have learned a great deal from everyone and all the posts on here. Maybe next time one of the mods can say "hey stop doing whatever you are doing or you will get warning points"
 
Fine. I thought that since you were newer I would give a polite suggestion instead of being harsh or just flat out giving warning points. I guess some people do not want polite and just want the harsh and/or warning points from the get go.
