• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah that's why I'm following the thread too. I prefer to deal locally (especially in the crazy triple digit heat) and may delve into geckos some day. So it of particular interest to skim off the scum from the local buying and selling pool.
As far as the pics sent before the buy, I see one that looks underweight and its a fuzzy pic.
Guess I have another name to add to the scum list.

Dennis and I already talked about this, but the seller is evidently from Denton, TX. The temps here have been in the triple digits for over 40 days. Not only was he shipped skinny, sick leos, but they were shipped in very extreme temperatures. Shows a complete lack of respect and care for the animals and our hobby. I live about 20 minutes from Denton and work there. I will be trying to find out if anyone local has any further information.

That's disgusting. It's bad enough he let the geckos get like that, but to send them out is even worse. I feel horrible for the geckos. Someone definitely needs to stop this guy. Good luck Dennis.

Well, when we checked voice mail today there was a message from the Better Business Bureau. They say that someone by the name of Daniel Strong files a complaint against my business (HISS) due to a "problem with product/service". I won't be able to speak to anyone from there until Monday but can you guys believe the nuts on this loser?!?

Wow, that must be annoying! Obviously he won't get anywhere with it, but it's awful that you have to deal with that.

So... since I have a strong interest in avoiding this local person, do we have all of the currently known aliases/contact info here? Let me see... here's all the information I can find in the various threads on this person:

3. Is this person's real name Daniel Strong, or do we even know?
 
Still waiting on paypal. nothing so far. however.. i did find homes for all of the geckos. with people i know that enjoy rehabbing sick geckos..

i lost money... but they are a lot better off than being with him. this guy shouldnt be allowed to ever own an animal.
 
I am 100% sure that Daniel Strong = Ricky Williams.

I was able to speak to the BBB on Monday and they did remove the complaint.
 
Funny you posted this on the 18th, and on Ft.Worth Craigslist their is an add posted with geckos for trade. I'm pretty sure its the pics you posted that he originally sent you. He posted the add on the 21st.
