    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi guys!

I wanted to give you a heads-up on this, I would like to make the whole forum aware of a con artist that appears to be lurking.

I have been informed by a friend that this guy has struck in the UK a few times recently and has conned many out of thousands of pounds. Joe and I received an email today regarding the sale of our bearded dragon hatchlings,. below are the 3 emails we received from him - we did not give any personal information. We unfortunately do not know where he saw our ad, as we have advertised on 3 UK websites and on 1 US classifieds. Sadly this guy apparently has been operating under many assumed names.

I just want you all to be aware of this con, and not to fall for any such tricks if you ever receive a similar contact. I will be creating as much awareness about this as possible, PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION ON TO ANY PEOPLE YOU KNOW AND ON ANY OTHER FORUMS OR CLASSIFIEDS WHERE I HAVEN'T ALREADY DONE SO. There are so many sick people out there..

Yeah, after posting warnings everywhere I have discovered that this is a long-term scam, that unfortunately some people are still falling for!

I don't think I'll be receiving any more contact after my posts all over the net about this guy/these people!
 
Yeah, they tried this scam on my place of employment also... wanted to buy a pair of our chondros. We had our suspicions, but luckily we have customers/friends who frequent this site and luv'd us enuff to give us a heads up. Thanks. BTW We called the FBI who sent us to the secret service (lol); anyway it's in their hands now; we gave them the phoney cashiers check. Thank goodness we never cashed it ;)
 
God I live for these scams to show up in my inbox.. I am usually nice and reply about how I will find them and cut them into small bits and make their family eat them.

What they going to do? Call the cops because I made a threat aimed at them? Yeah right........

IF YOU GUYS THINK THAT BAD WAIT TILL YOU HEAR MINE. I HAD A GUY TRY TO SCAM ME LIKE THIS ON MY GOFFINS COCKATTO. HE OFFERED ME ANY AMT I WANTED SAYING THAT THEY COULDNT GET ANY OF THE GOFFINS IN BRITIN. I REPLIED THINKING OK MAYBE THIS GUY IS SINCERE. I GET AN E MAIL THAT SAYS HE HAS THIS CLIENT THAT OWES HIM LOTS OF $$ SO I SHOULD GIVE HIM ALL MY PERSONAL INFO. I MADE UP BULL S*IT INFO AND PUT DOWN MY WORK ADDRESS. THIS GUY TALKED TO ME BACK AND FOURTH FOR ALMOST 4 MONTHS!!! I TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD NOT LET MY BIRD OUT OF THE COUNTRY BECAUSE QUARENTIEN IS LIKE LITTLE BIRDIE PRISON CAMP, HE TELLS ME THAT HIS WIFE IS AT THEIR HOUSE IN LIKE TENNESSE AND THAT BIRD WOULD GO THERE. THEN HE SEND ME E MAILS SAYING I SHOULD GET A CHECK SOON BLAH BLAH!!THEN HE E MAILS ME TELLING ME THAT HIS WIFE WAS IN A BAD CAR CRASH AND NEEDS AN EXPENSIVE SURJURY TO SAVE HER LIFE ADN THE LIFE OF HER UNBORN BABY AND HE ASKS ME TO SEND HIM 1500$. THIS WHOLE TIME HIS MESSAGES ARE FILLED WITH JESUS THIS AND GOD BLESS YOU THAT. I TOLD HIM NO WAY. I DONT HAVE THAT KIND OF CASH AT MY DISPOSAL. HE DONESNT E MAIL FOR ABOUT A WEEK. THEN SAYS HIS WIFE IS NOW MAKING A MIRACULOUS RECOVERY. A FEW WEEKS LATER A DAMN CHECK SHOWS UP AT WORK. NOW GET THIS HIS DEAL WAS THAT HE WOULD SEND ME A CHECK FOR 4500!! AND THAT HE "TRUSTED" ME TO TAKE MY 1750 AND GIVE THE REST TO THE SHIPPING AGENT WHO WOULD SHOW UP ANYWHERE I WANTED. I WAS LEARY AND TOLD HIM THAT I WAS GONNA DO SOME CHECKING ON HIM FIRST. HE GOT WORRIED AND EMAILED ME AND TOLD ME TO RUSH. I DID SOME SEARCHING AND FOUND OUT THAT THE COMPANY NAME HE USED DIDN'T EXIST, THE CHECK THAT HE SEND WAS COUNTERFIT/STOLEN FROM A BANK IN VIRGINIA WHO WAS ALSO PART OF A SCAM WITH STOLEN CHECKS. THEN IT TURNS OUT I CONTACTED FED EX WHO DELIVERED THE CHECK/PACKAGE AND THE ENVELOPE BEGAN IN NIGERIA, THEN WENT TO BRITIN, THEN TO VIRGINIA, THEN TO SPRINGFIELD, THEN TO CHICAGO (ME). I CONTACTED FEDERAL OFFICIALS AFTER TRACKING HIS INFO THRU THE SEC. OF STATE AND FED EX AND SUCH. CONTACTED OFFICIALS GOT A REPORT TOGETHER AND WANT THEM TO PURSUE THIS GUY. THEY HAVE KEPT ME UP TO DATE AND ARE POSSIBLY NEAR FINDING A WAY TO PROSECUTE HIM FOR THINGS OTHER THAN JUST THE CHECK BEING STOLEN. I THEN TOLD HIM HE WAS BUSTED NICE TRY TRYING TO SCAM ME BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!! IT JUST GOES TO SHOW WITH A LITTLE WORK YOU CAN GET THESE GUYS -LAURA
