Defending someone like upchuck is not the healthiest thing in the world, even if, by some miricle, they are actually in the right this time.

We have had many dealings in the past, We had a good friendship and all was good. Brandon and his partner andy called me and told me that their interests had changed and they were no longer going to be selling herps and wanted to change their stock over to breeders. He asked me if I wanted the animals for credit. They had been to my place weekly and knew that I had nothing at the time that would interest them. They brought the animals, when I looked the animals over they looked pretty thin and the chamelion they brought was a rack of bones. Brandon informed me that he ran out of feed and that everyone was hungry. My wife wrote him up a slip and he was on his way. A short while later he contacted me wanting to know if I would take the few remaining animals and some racks,cages. Brandon personally owed me $75 cash and when we spoke he agreed to give me three chinchillas in trade for the $. I agreed and they brought them with everything else. He had also mentioned that he wanted a pair of snakes I had and a spotted python that he saw on Upstates site. They delivered the the stuff and took the animals they wanted at the time. About 2 weeks later brandon emailed me wanting the chinchillas back. I was very angry about this becouse these were my childrens and I refused, I wasnt going to take them away from my kids becouse brandon was too cheap to pay his sister for the chinchillas. Brandon gave me a big list of animals he wanted from Upstate Exotics, I let him know that I had a big bill with upstate and wasnt going to ask for anything more until he was paid. Brandon got all upset and claimed I wouldnt let him use his credit. HE COULD HAVE USED HIS CREDIT AT ANY TIME FOR ANIMALS I HAD IN STOCK. As for the Dumerils Boa, I didnt originally want to part with it but after seeing brandon was getting all pissy I told him to come get it. I dont get in new shipments on a daily basis and my inventory doesnt change daily. twinstate knew this. At this point, Brandon decided to make numerous calls to Upstate Exotics telling them that I ripped them off. This obviously worried Upstate exotics and that is why they insisted on full payment immediatly. Upstate told me they were harrassed on a daily basis by brandon and they were overflowed with emails. Any comunication between brandon and I was strictly email becouse he was and still is spineless and wont contact me over the phone. The last time I had spoken with him,everything was fine and he would wait until I had more herps he wanted. It was around this time that my computer crashed and I had no access to my email for a length of time. When I got it back on, I was flooded with nasty emails. The fact of the matter is, If they had just called me about this and discussed it with me instead of everyone else, had been respectful, I would have sent everything right back to him that was unpaid.

As it stands with Twinstate Reptile, I owe them for some racks and cages and that is all. I stopped using the homemade racks shortly after getting them becouse they were such poor quality that my reptiles could escape. I still have the racks and cages and would be more then happy to send the crap back. All it would have taken was a phone call from brandon to streighten evrything out. Instead he was a back stabbing weasel that went behind my back and caused Upstate to question my credability. My error was getting involved with two company's that are known crooks.
I have been more then decent to twinstate, I remember one occasion, I was going to make a trip to a big reptile distributer and asked if they wanted to ride along. When I went to pick them up they had a sob story about having no money and they wished they had some money in case they saw something they wanted. Just to be nice, I paid $150 for a damn kingsnake just so they would have money in their pockets. On the trip, I bought them breakfast and dinner, all expenses paid,Just to be a nice guy. Brandon even tried weaseling more money out of me becouse he had to pay his electric bill.

SO BRANDON AND ANDY, IF YOU WANT TO PUT YOUR EGO'S ASIDE AND GIVE ME A CALL,WE CAN ARRANGE FOR YOU TO PICK UP THESE RACKS AND CAGES.

As for proof of this dealing. I do have a very well itemized slip that was written out and twinstate has a copy. I would love to post it here but I dont have a scanner, maybe brandon has a scanner and he can put the document up here, his says the same as mine.

Alison, this is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Now you know how it feels for a business not to believe that they sent what you said they did and to play games with you.

So as things stand now:

All animals that lived were returned to Upstate Exotics and that is a done deal in my book. Nothing anyone can say or do will convince me to give these crooks a cent.

Allison, You say that if you only knew that my dumerils boa was brandons that you would have gotten it back for him. So should I have just sent the remainder of your animals to some of the people you ripped off? I dont think they would have wanted sickly animals anyways.

When I picked out these animals from Upstate they did look good. The ball pythons were very active and aggressive. I had agreed to buy the peachthroat based on the pics on his site and hadnt seen them in person. When I got there, the animal was thinner then the pic but I agreed to buy it becouse I had him save it for me so I felt obligated and I figured it needed to be fattened up.

I saved all my carcasses, I had a freezer full. When sal and I discussed sending the live stuff back, he told me to go ahead and throw out the frozen carcasses. Say what you want and believe what you want. If any sicko's out there would like, I could dig up the animals and take a pic of all the decomposed animals, I dont think that would help much.

I am sure most of Upstates animals look good when they come right off the boat but I am sure that a gut load of parasites doesnt take long to wipe an animal out. Sal doesnt worm anything and makes no attempt to eliminate parasites before shipping. I dont think that either of them are even capable of administering meds. All his big burms had serious U.R.I's that were going untreated but I guess I made that up too.

Oh yes Sal and Allison, you got caught up in a big scheme to rip you off. your the victim. Tell me this, If I was going to rip them off dont you think I would have kept the remainder of the animals? why would I have sent back the high end animals. If I was going to rip them off I would have sold those hoggs right away. I didnt drive 3 hours just to sceme a way of getting some w.c. ball pythons and sickly savanahs etc.

As for the people reading this thread, You asked for proof and wanted to know why I hadnt answered your questions..
I was up until midnight last night typing and then I just got up awhile ago, but here I am. As for posting invoices etc. I dont have a scanner so I dont know what other method you recommend.



Twinstate has been compensated for their animals and I have offered to return the racks.


We can ponder this forever if you would like but as I said earlier,Upstate is a done deal and as soon as twinstate picks up their racks then we will be square.

This doesnt take away from the fact that Upstate sells crap animals, doesnt stand behind them and will lie and cheat at any chance they get. You really dont need me to tell you that, just look at their track record. Don't believe me? then chum with them and buy some of their animals. I would definatly recommend that anyone in driving distance to go visit their place and see first hand.

One more thing, If you were given animals on credit and the all began to get sick, would you pay for them?
I know the answer, Most people would have sent them all back which is were I went wrong. I should have boxed everything when I realized things were sick. Do you think I would have ever been compensated for my original dead animals. I think not.

I will look back through my old pics, I know I documented some of the dead ball pythons but I am not going to great lengths for this becouse I will not gain anything but a bigger headache.

Well first I am not defending Upstate by any means. If a person comes and hand picks animals out themselves at wholesale prices I am sorry but that is the end of any guarantee unless the seller agrees to a further guarantee. If the animals start perishing later on that is not the sellers responsibility except if their is the extended guarantee. If animals are shipped then that is a different story. From what I gather Corey hand picked the animals himself. If there was something visually wrong with them it should have been addressed at that time. Once they are removed they are now the responsibility of the buyer and no longer the seller. But if the animals are shipped the animals fall under the shippers policy and guarantee. If a customer comes and hand picks animals from me at wholesale and then weeks or so later tells me they have started perishing, I am sorry but that is not my responsibility. When I deliver to my wholesale customers here locally they all get the opportunity to inspect the animals before they purchase and make payment on them for just that reason.

Prove it is true and I'll believe you but you DO NOT get the benifit of the doubt as you have used and abused that privedge up. It is ENTIRELY relivant to this thread that you are sticking up for upstate, another business that we ALL know lie as easy as they breathe, and so you are a putting yourself in, frankly, bad company. Okay so EVERYTHING these CROOKS sell is misrepresented and sick. At least that is what you say.

Well I am not a family member of Sal and Alison but after all the business I have done with them, I would have to say they are my friends. I have been dealing with them for quite some time now. I live about three hours from them and often drive down with my wife and kids to check out all the animals and pick up more stock. I have bought countless animals from them and have been perfectly happy with about 98% of everything I have bought. I usually pick up large groups of ball pythons,savanah monitors, tegus etc. and I have lost a couple here and there. I hand pick my animals from large groups, I also make sure to quarentine and worm everything when it comes in, regardless of where I purchase it. Every time I go to Upstate I always end up buying way more then I intend to just becouse Sal always has some awsome critters I have to get for myself. I recently bought a trio of hogg island boas that are awsome for $425 and a huge Blue Tongue Skink for $125. I thought that was a good deal. I missed out on a banded cape monitor that was incredible(too bad)
I am simpathetic for anyone who has had bad dealings with Upstate Exotics, I have been following the threads and understand everyones viewpoints. I just dont think it would be fair for me to keep reading all these bad guy posts knowing that I have had good experiences with them,and keeping quiet. KInda weird how in the above it sounds like you have done business with them NUMEROUS times. Then all of a sudden they are crooks because you woe them money.

Consigment = you pay me money when you sell the stuff.
= you pay me money when you decide to keep stuff for yourself
= you pay me money when it dies in your care. (unless otherwise agreed upon)

If you do not like the above terms of consingment..........then do not buy on consignment.

People always get in over there heads and blame everyone else.

Yes ritchie, I did post that good guy post after my original visit to Upstate, when I got home, I decided to post a good guy post in their defense. I was misleading in implying that I had done several deals with them. This is actually why I made my original post retracting my earlier comments. what is said, is said and I shouldnt have exagerated my business dealings with them. that is entirely my fault and I apolagize.
I do feel that the animals I got were misrepresented. If someone tells you that an animal is captive bred then it should be exactly that, captive bred.
As far as your termonology of consignment, thanks for the breakdown and I'm sure it would be helpful if I had gotten the animals on consignment but it doesnt pertain to this case. these animals were not on consignment.
Where is allisons proof of anything? She keeps such good paperwork, thats why the only record they have of what I took was written by my wife. I was thinking that she gave me an invoice but after discussing it with my wife, there wasnt anything in writing. burden of proof allison.

Just a reminder, When I was first contacted by sal requesting his animals, I still offered to pay for them(including some of what died) and he refused. How many people let people have animals on credit, make payment arrangements then back out of the deal and demand the animals back? I offered to pay.
As I said earlier, Im not loosing any sleep over Upstate or this thread. This really doesnt effect me, I dont wholesale reptiles anymore and what I have is my personal collection. If I was going to get accused of ripping them off, I should have just kept the few remaining animals that were actually in better health.
Would a jewelry thief bring back some gold if they were accused of stealing it? hell no, Im sure they would keep it all. In the same way, I would have kept all of sals animals if I intended to screw him. aaaaannnyyyways, I have wasted enough time here for now.

So, Upstate Exotics, a organization run by scam artists and liars, was ripped off by Corey, who has admitted to lying for the sole purpose of making himself look more important than he was when he lied in support of Upstate Exotics??? That's what this whole thread boils down to, is it?

Sal, Alison, where was your solid defense for the truth in relation to Corey when you saw him falsely say that he had done many business deals with you all? Why didn't you correct him when he said that he had gone to your place of business several times with his wife in the past, when in fact, he had never been there previous to that original incident??? Is it OK for Corey to lie FOR you, but not to you? Is that what has you so upset?

All I can think of is the old line "If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas!" I have no idea if Corey is telling the truth here. Upstate Exotics has lied and mistreated people so often that they are completely unbelieveable to me. However, it is always possible for the scammers to get scammed. Even so, Corey has admitted to lying, so he cannot be believed either. It's just so much easier in life, if you just tell the truth to people, Huh?

I wouldn't buy/sell anything from/to either of these protagonists. What they have appears to be more contagious (and more deadly to a business) than IBD!
