In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Watch Out For Spiders In Big Apples Feeders

Just like to let everyone know that the president of Big Apple emailed me apologizing and taking full responsibility for his employee's actions, he has reimbursed me on the crickets and all is good...
maybe his subordinates will learn something over this and improve the quality of there feeders and customer support.

That's great! I hope they can rectify this with their grower too, that would be ideal! I had heard nothing but good about B.A. Herps before so perhaps this was a misunderstanding with an employee versus company policy.

should see me when I go hiking through the woods and run into a large web...it looks like an epileptic version of stop, drop and roll...

:rotflmao: I couldn't find the "spitting coffee out your nose" smiley so these had to do! OMG!!

Glad to hear

Glad to hear that the "higher ups" were informed of what was going on and took action to make their customer happy.
I have never go spiders in my cricket orders but OMG watch out if I did. I am EXTREMELY scared of spiders. So much so that I have been known to sleep on the couch on the other side of the house if I saw a spider in my room........... :bolt01:

Now I will be paranoid everytime I open a box of crickets from anyone.

Weird I rather be in a cage with 20ft hungry retic then with a 2in brown fuzzy,8 legged little vampire... should see me when I go hiking through the woods and run into a large web...it looks like an epileptic version of stop, drop and roll...

While I wouldn't want to face that retic either, I can totally relate to how you feel and react when you run into a spider web! I can easily picture the "dance" you are describing. LOL

Also, as far as the order, I can barely keep my composure with the crickets themselves, I can't imagine how I'd react if spiders started running out of the box! I'm glad BA is taking care of this for you.

Have paid the money to buy from Fluker's for years, nary a spider ! Some of the cricket farms are little more than damp shacks...a favourite roost for brown spider derivatives! (must be fun working there, no?)
BTW...spiders love couches...you might want to choose a better "safe spot" !!!!

I have gotten spiders along with my Reptilefood order 2 times now. The first time I got one and made my fiancee kill it, the next time I got 3!! Since they were real small and hard to identify, I put them in a clear Tupperware bowl and watched 'em grow. I never could find out what they were but those suckers lived a good month! Reptilefood says they are just a common brown house spider. They like crickets because they provide warmth. I have gotten some from Premium crickets as well. Odd that I can handle a few thousand crickets and lobster roaches, but forget it when it comes to spiders!

I can't believe the response you got from Andy. Totally out of character from what I remember dealing with.

Maybe he needed a vacation.. overworked, overstressed. Who knows..

I'm glad everything worked out well for you.

Getting other critters in with crickets happens occasionally. But getting a crap load of spiders would make me think twice about ordering from them again. Then add in the way they blew you off would completely seal the deal for me. I would not order anything from them again.

Try www.grubco.com , that is the only place I get bulk feeders and have never had a problem with them in any way. I get crickets from them every month. Even through out the Winter I never had a problem with them. I got the mealies and supers that started my colonies from them as well. All was perfect with every order.
I recently ordered 5000 mealworms and 1000 crickets from Grubco....they sent the mealworms and not the crickets....I think it's probably just a mistake, but it's been over a day and they have not responded to my emails. I can't say I recommend them because of this, but who knows, it might have just been a careless mistake on their part. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks,
Eric McLeod
