Water Gel

I have a question about using water gel with Dubia roaches.
I used it for the first time yesterday and when I went to check on the roaches today, it was gone. From what I understood they will drink from it to get moisture, it will then shrivel up and need replenished. Is it normal for them to consume the gel?

Over here it is. I use it for both my lobsters and dubias and it is consumed regularly. I wouldn't worry about replenishing old crystals, just add new fresh crystals.

carrots or potatoes work just as well, cost less and easier to source.

Carrots and potatoes aren't cheaper than water crystals. They do work but aren't as cost effective.
