    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

You can't go through life thinking not being able to spell is ok. That's not ok. Especially if you are going to misspell your ad title, or post title, or the name of the animal you are selling, or the name of the state you are living in. That's bad. Not ok. Spelling is not taught in post graduate classes, it is taught in 2nd grade. That means it's simple enough for 8 year olds to grasp.

We don't need spell check. Hopefully economic darwinism will remove those from the market that can't take the time or have the mental power to spell properly (I'm not talking about obscure latin terms but simple words such as states or words like "snake").

Too right. Some people's spelling is atrocious and makes them look like they're uneducated or just plain stupid. I understand that some spelling errors are just simple typos but when people can't figure out which word to use such as they're, there, their, it bothers me. I'm a medical transcriptionist and have been doing this for over 20 years so spelling errors stick out like a sore thumb.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Poor spelling and grammar on the Internet are one of my big hang-ups.

I would not consider purchasing an animal (or anything else for that matter) from someone that cannot take the time to check the spelling in their own advertisement. If you are too lazy to spend that few seconds proofing your ad, how do you expect a prospective customer to think you have the time (or intellect) to care for the animals in your charge?

For those interested, check out IESpell if you use Internet Explorer or SpellBound for Firefox.

I am sure your browser of choice has a plug-in for form field spell checking. Just use the search engine you prefer.

If someone is too lazy to check their spelling or just not bright enough to spell, I'd like to know. I'd rather not purchase from or sell to someone who would loose in the first round of a fourth grade spelling bee if they were to participate today.

How about some of us that has problems

like me......i am with a degenerative neurological disorder and would really appreciate a spell check to lessen my embarrassment on these forums of people thinking I'm a retard. ( no animosity against the ones that do because I have a have a niece that has down syndrom ). But in order to use some of these sites, I have to click back and fourth using a e-mail services for the correct spelling and or meaning of words. I guess i could not post but with being not able to work, this takes up some of my time as to me not being so bored ? AND besides, maybe in my thought i can bring something to this table for me being into reptiles for over 40 years ? So I ask ,is there anyway I could do something else to make it more simplified other than going back and fourth ?

Thanks

Read my post above. With a little knowledge and effort on anyone's part, they can have spell checking for forums and form fields.
