    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi there. With the recent string of hurricanes we've had here in Florida, in addition to the daily real bad thunderstorms, I've noticed a change in behavior in my geckos.

My older geckos, who have been through storms before, now aren't shedding. They shed, but fail to remove the skin. (3 days later, after the old skin has ripped, but yet to be eaten, I help em out). My newer ones, [the Daytona newbies and my own babies] aren't eating.

I know that in other household pets, i.e. dogs and cats, they act weird, and do things out of the ordinary. I figure with smaller animals like our geckos, the booming thunder and change in pressue might also affect them. I'm sure the vibrations from the tunder gives 'em something to fear, because I can feel them.. and so can the windows.

Any other similar expirances or comments?

-Michael

I also posted about this a while back

I found my leos almost stop eating when there is a low pressure system near by, they could sense it even if I have all windows shut and air-con on. They also slow down on eating during the change of season, like now, some of my leos are just eating very little at the moment.

Michael, Im sure the extreme low pressure must be effecting them for sure. But to what degree, who knows?

Hey! nice gecko ya got there!

I noticed with our uromastyx that they'll disappear (not come out of their hides) for a couple days. Then BAM we get an unusual summer storm in the area. I've learned to watch them over the Weather Channel :D

some of mine are slowing eating

( im in the midwest though )i wonder if it is just the change in season ?
