In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Weather

Great pic!!!!

We got the snow and COLD here now too.......

I want to make it clear that I was NOT complaining about the unusually warm weather, and would like it back please.

 LOL I so second that motion!

The BBQ? Maybe on the week end for now the snow coming down will put the fire out!

Went out for work this morning and had to scrap my windshield (inside and out) it was 11 degrees this was at 930am got maybe 3 more inches on the ground last night. I would put a poll up but my choice right now is I like the warmer nicer Michigan. Global warming might not be so bad....

It was 12 below zero when I got off work this morning. My thermostat on my truck froze up halfway to work last night....hitched a ride to work. The ol man got a ride from work to my truck and got that home, and left me the old "work car" to get home....and the locks were frozen on that when I tried to go home. The guy who was going to give me a ride home, well....his car started but the throttle was stuck wide open. Used half a can of ether to finally get my one lock unfroze and take the other guy home, and get me home.

Warm, good. Cold, VERY bad.

Well it just seemed that the car heater couldn't overcome the cold, so I did some walking today. Little errands that I would normally drive, figured good for the heart good for the health, good for getting the blood going. All I can say is Thank God I got boots for Christmas and they are so warm.

Now that the winter has come a bit late but with a vengence I will not talk about my vehicles, lol, as I don't want to jinx anything  So sorry to hear about the car situations, not good at all.

On a lighter note some of the kids and I did make it out last night to get some annual snow angels in the fluffy snow before it turns into rock hard snow :yesnod:
Time to start making the good winter foods, soups, chili, yummy!

yep made my pot of chili yesterday, hadn't thought of soup but a good cream of broccoli sounds great. Oh and I did get gas for the grill, moved it so its one step out the door on the deck and am ready to go....

I picked up the makings for chili yesterday, no time today but going to throw it on the stove in the morning....and make some home-made beer bread to go with it. It's one of the few things this weather is good for. ;)

It's snowing AGAIN! Seems like this is the month for it. Not those big fluffy pretty flakes either, just small snow and lots of it!
I love the snow for the holidays (didn't get it) and no snow there after (getting it) I REALLY need to have a word or two with mother nature!

Ditto here. It's slowed down now, but I suppose we got a few more inches of the white crap. I KNOW the car ain't making it out of the driveway.....hopefully the tractor will start to clean it out.

The boys are out playing on the snowmobiles, I guess at least someone can enjoy the stuff.

Ok, I did speak with Mother Nature. It seems her sons made ANOTHER pact. You know mr snow mizer and mr heat mizer? Well that is why we had such good holidays and are getting the snow now. She is adamant she will not interfer this time :shrug01:
I only hope this doesn't mean we will have a cold spring as well :ack2:
We are getting SO much snow here!

Well, we don't have TOO much snow....but the current temp is -4, with a wind chill of about -30.

ACK. I want spring now.

I woke up to sun this morning and now it is snowing like crazy again :ack2:
We do not have it as cold as you do but cold enough lol.
How is the car doing?

Well ain't this some .... poop!

How often does it get cold and rainy in SCOTTSDALE? I figured since they had the freak snow a few weeks ago that their weird weather was out of the way, but when I got here today it was raining and below 60 degrees. So much for golf!

Well, so far so good...it started a bit slow tonight, though.....not trusting the truck to go anywhere until I get a new thermostat however.

It's supposed to get even colder for the weekend. So much for that ski trip, I'm hibernating. :censored:

How much snow have you gotten?

Ok this is the official notice that I am putting down the snow shovel and will not work again until I get benefits....

Yesterday morning it was -9 here at the house, the last storm that started late Friday proceeded to shut the Grand Rapids area down. Police telling people not to leave their houses. And the worst sign of the storm, the malls closed early 2 of 3 closed at 4 and the other at 5pm. This is after over half the stores closed even earlier. I dont think a church service was held within 20 miles of my house all the churchs cancelled Sunday services. No school on Monday or Tuesday.

Last night there was another 3 inches of snow, all the slush and junk that was churned up yesterday is frozen solid due to 2 degree temps. Wind chill is -15.

I know some of you are worse than I am, my only question is this. I know we have screwed up the weather with our constant dumping of junk in the air and ground, yet where is the warming part of this effect? :shrug01:

Eeesch, I've been thinking the same thing, Michael.

Our HIGH temps have been below zero for the last several days, with actual low temps hitting around 17 below zero, wind chills around 35 below zero......and now we're getting a bunch more snow. The school just called to tell me that my son's bus was going to be about half an hour late because it went in the ditch (mind you, we're the second stop on the route). He was already staying home sick (he's got the same awful bronchial nasty flu stuff I've had) but I don't think he'd be going anyway, if the bus can't even make it to the second stop without going in the freaking ditch.

This is a pic of my back yard, I am standing in the door looking out my back deck. I love the snow in the trees creates a very picturesque scene, yet to get snow in the trees I know there must be a "large" amount on the ground and boy is there a lot on the ground.
