In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Weather

LOL, at least I can just walk out and feed my horses........now as long as they stay in the fence, I'll be fine!

I remember several years ago, gosh, must have been 95 or 96(?) when we got snow like this, but it came in several layers with ice in between.....it got so high and hard packed that the horses discovered a spot where they could walk out right over the fence. I spent half a day pounding electric fence posts into the ice and snow, and stringing up electric fence to keep them in a smaller area until spring thaw. It was just too much and too hard to clean with the tractor, and there were trees in the way. Anyhoo......got it all done and strung up, herded them into the fence, and then went in to turn it on (yes, I should have electrified it BEFORE locking them in, I know this now).....my one little mare was one of those who knew immediately that it wasn't powered.....and she charged right through it and unstrung it all, fence and posts flying.....

I was mostly concerned that she hadn't hurt herself getting wound up in all that wire, but I will admit that once I knew she was OK, I did a LOT of cussing putting the fence back together, lol. I'm very glad that we have a much better pasture fence system set up here now....and can clean the snow away from the fences.

Yesterday we had a couple of friends show up with their plows on their trucks and help us finish getting cleaned out, unfortunately, they had been out cleaning driveways all day, and had a few beers while doing it. They both ended up stuck, one blew a heater hose, and we had to call a neighbor with a skid loader to get them out, lol. At least we can get out of our driveway now though..... ;)

Well last night and this morning were interesting. Was driving home from a short trip, in the area I live the wind had been going all day and every place the road wasnt protected from the fields the blowing snow was all across the road. There were 3 accidents within 10 miles of my house and this morning a pickup had rolled over after hitting one of these icy patches just out of town.

Supposed to have a low of -5 tonight. The wind is blowing between 10-15 mph not fun. Thinking I might just stay put.

Yikes.....time to hibernate!! At least our temps have been bearable lately, though we're dealing with the snow blowing constantly now too. Just be careful if you gotta go out there!

Ok, yesterdays weather was really weird, I can't remember when I have seen anything like it.

Started out normal pretty overcast with some snow flurries falling. Was working in the arena on the water system and stepped out. There was this blue stuff in the sky all over and this bright orange thing. At first I thought aliens but it slowly moved across the sky. I won't say it got real warm but had to take my winter coat off and just use a sweat shirt.

Anyone know what that was?

You mean......you were OTUSIDE without 3 layers of protection, and didn't get frostbite????

Wow, that really IS strange!

If that orange thing was big and slow-moving, it COULD have been the mother ship searching for signs of intelligent life.....if it keeps coming back, you'll know it didn't find any yet.

Well who said anything about not having three layers. I have t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweat shirt, XL hoodie, then may winter coat. If I am lucky I stay warm.

And that orange thing was back for a little bit today, but disappeared behind the clouds again. And if its looking for intelligent life on the farm it better just skip on to the next solar system!!!

Good news is they say 40 degrees tomorrow and as high as 50 mid next week. I will be looking for my shorts and sandals.

They say we're supposed to warm up like that next week too, but I'll believe it when I see it, lol.

We're all getting spring fever here, and all of this snow is driving us all stir crazy. Just look what it's doing to my son......

Well I am excited today, didnt get below freezing last night. It rained all night and supposed to be in the 40's again today. They say that winter isn't over yet, but I think I can see the spring from here.

I won't stomp my feet and whine too much about your 50's, Rozann.....it's getting better here. Things are actually melting!! My driveway is turning into a big slimy mudhole, but I'll take that over snowbanks any day, lol.

Michael, if you actually see spring, send me a picture so I can remember what it looks like!! It seems like it's been an awful long winter........

Oh I am not complaining at all. I wrote small in case the weather gods were watching, hoping they would over look it, lol.
Actually I am loving this weather, snow melting all over and all, it is the time between drastic cold and heat waves that I like the best.

Seems like a long winter, yet my part of MI had no measurable snow fall for December. And it seems we were all complaining about Global Warming....those were the days.

Its been sprinkling the past couple of days here, will try to get a picture of the green grass that is out, hey I know can take a picture of the full manure spreader....that definately has a spring theme.

I knew YOU weren't complaining......I was saying that I, myself, me, would not throw a fit in jealousy of your lovely weather, lol. It's actually been pretty nice here the last couple days too, so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak!

And I don't need any manure spreader pics, I've got enough of that around here TYVM!!!

See now the thaw is getting to me...was out taking grain to the horses. Five steps in the pasture and I am mid shin in mud. Pull my foot out and my boot stays.....just stuck. I personally think the horses were laughing at me...here's the picture, I have five buckets of grain planted in the mud and I am kinda leaning on them, left foot is in the boot in about 10 inches of mud, right foot is out of boot about 2 feet behind me, I am feeling around with my toe trying to get the foot back in the boot. All this and trying to keep from just falling over in the mud and....stuff. And naturally the horses are coming up to get the grain, not really watching where they walk or what they bump.

Good news is for the first time this winter I didn't have to chip the ice on the pond for the geese and ducks to get water. Funny thing here, the geese hiss at me....if I wanted to be hissed at, I got a room full of creatures that can do it.

Well can't say its winter, cant say its spring. About 30 degrees outside right now, and a very light dusting of snow. Thinking about curling up and pretending I am in Tahiti. Or sailing in the Caribbean....

All I can say is I make and awsome marguarita, Pina Colada's, and several great fun drinks, there is also a drink made famous by Pussers in the Virgin Islands called a "Pain Killer" typical fruit Punch. As the saying goes you may not feel better but you don't care.....
