    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

hey rich...is the $10 fee for hell different than the participant fee of $10 or when you pay for the participant fee, you can have access to hell also?

Rana, it is an additional fee. If you go to your User CP on the upper left hand corner of your screen you can click on it which will open a menu. On the left side you will see a list and you can click on the 'paid subscriptions' which will open a sub-menu of the different available subscriptions, including the one to hell.

I really don't think a thread should be moved to a place where the participants have to pay to post in it unless it gets ugly. I was trying to help you and now you're trying to make me pay for the privilege??? The conversation was going along just fine. There was no need to punish us. If the thread just HAD to be moved why not the General BS forum or something, then if it got out of hand move it to *HELL*???

I don't belong to *HELL* and I don't think I want to. If I do decide to join I don't want to have to do it to post in thread that had no rational reason for being moved there. It's probably ribbons by now and unable to be moved back.

I just thought that was a very underhanded, kneejerk reaction to absolutely nothing.

Excuse me I have to go set my spittoon in the corner until I calm down.

I feel like I'm six again and someone is taking my favorite toy away because they're afraid I might hurt myself with it. Oh, pish, I better just shut up now.

what thread are you speaking of? I just checked the HELL forum and there are no new threads there that you participated in.
 
It was the thread started by Vinny D. in the Welcome forum last night. Do I agree that it should probably have been moved elsewhere, yes. But to *HELL*, of all places, absolutely not!

You know what those folks are going to do to him in there. That's like throwing juvenile delinquents in with the general population in a maximum security prison.

Not nice. Not nice at all. What a Welcome to Fauna, Eh? Ackk, what do I care anyway. Sometimes people never cease to amaze me.

To say I am thoroughly disgusted by this is an understatement to the Nth degree. What was the thought procress behind that move anyway? Was there a thought process? Did someone step in Lucille's oatmeal? I dunno.

I thought you were one of the "good guys" Lucille. My faith is shaken. I am appalled that you would let a new member be treated this way.

I must beat me head against the wall some more, this makes NO SENSE at all.
 
for one, its not in the hell forum. there are two "vinny" threads in the venomous forum you may want to check out to see if thats what you are referring to.
 
I was wrong there is one in hell from vinny, the "i see many of you guys dont like me so here it is!!! " thread is indeed in hell, why i dont know, but someone must of had a reason to put it there.
 
Well, that is just weird. I'll check them out. Perhaps it was a glitch in the Matrix or it's lost in limbo somewhere.

I do not like thinking that Lucille, of all people, would have done that to another human being.

I look up to you, girl, and if I came on strong it is a direct result of how I feel about you. You are a good person, you fall down sometimes, as do we all, but you've never been malicious.

Perhaps my e-mail notification is just way whacked out, but when I click on that link, I'm in *HELL*. I can view what is written, which is weird as sin, but I can't post.

I'm going to go look now and be prepared to have to apologize profusely. I don't mind though, I can't think of anyone I'd like to apologize to more, Lucille.

That is the one. Up and until the time it was moved it was a pretty good thread with abosultely no merits to being dumped in that lion's den.

I stand by my original feelings that that is pretty crappy thing to do to somebody who really didn't deserve it. Hope you guys have fun with the carcass. :mad:
 
the bad thing is it isnt in the regular Hell forum, its in the other "hell" announcement forum rich made a while back that no one can post in, even us "HELL MEMBERS".
 
lucille put it in the wrong place. I will email rich to get him to move it.
 
I think what y'all also did not see is that there were several negative comments about Vinny in a thread in The Welcome Room which I edited out.
Perhaps I should have chosen another forum to plant the moved thread in,( at 4AM the muses were not yet working).
I do think that an email to me will always be read and listened to.

Quite frankly, Maggie, my belief is that there is something seriously wrong with Vinny;s story. And it is NOT appropriate to be in the Welcome Room forum. I believe Lucille moved it to the incorrect forum, so I further relocated it to the SOUND OFF! forum, where perhaps it is better placed.

In any event, if a thread you are involved in does happen to get moved in to hell and the stricter rule enforcement has not deterred that from happening, then that is just the way it has to be. If you don't want this to happen, then take your own steps to make sure that it doesn't. Sorry but it does not have to be YOUR rational reason for a reason to still be rational.
 
well i was on last night and read what happened after lucilled edited it..and i think it was cuz someone was trying to post in hell..a comment..but he had more than one window opened and posted it in the wrong window.....

anyway,,back to the subject...so that means that you have to pay 10 to be a paid participant and another 10 to be in hell
 
I hadn't realized that the thread was even moved.

But I do think that at some point it needed to be (just not to HELL) as the thread no longer fit the intent of the Welcome area.

That said - I can see similar situations infrequently occurring and feel that the best move when that happens is just what Rich/Lucille did.

I don't think anyone was trying to defeat the purpose of the Welcome area, nor do I think people were attacking Vinny D. Given what has been posted by Vinny throughout Fauna, and the fact that his actions not only had very real repercussions for his life but the livlihood of others - the thread took the direction it did.

Just my .02 cents.

Yes.

My original intent had been to shut down the HELL forum completely. I felt that it had outlived it's usefullness with the crackdown on the rules, which theoretically should help to keep threads from spinning out of control so much that they must be moved. Personally, I don't believe the Vinny thread was a candidate for HELL at all. It did not belong in the Welcome Room forum, but HELL is basically a world of it's own now.

Anyway, while I was considering just chopping out the HELL forum, someone suggested that instead I charge a membership fee solely for access to that forum. Personally, I thought it was a wasted effort on my part setting it up, because I thought no one at all would pay to access that forum. But in effect, doing it that way as suggested would have accomplished the same thing, yet I wouldn't have been the bad guy yet again by not at least trying someone else's suggestion.

So that's why you have what you have now. If anyone wants to dive headfirst into the cesspool, it's there for you if you want it. Just pay the entrance fee, and have at it. To everyone else, it's as if it is not there at all.
 
I agree that you do not have to agree with me to be rational, Rich. I never said that. Heck, I'm not sure just how rational I am sometimes, so don't patronize me.

I beg to differ as to just how bad that thread had gotten for it to be moved to *HELL*. If you read it, which Lucille obviously did, then you would see that, in that particular thread, there was no malice aforethought, no demeaning comments and even (to stay on-topic) a "welcome".

So if I want to get up on my pony and Prance around the front entry hall on it, I will. Shoot, I'll even pick up the horse pucky, but don't tell me I don't have the right to feel the way I do.

Vinny's story can be as fabricated as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. That is not my issue with the movement of that particular thread. My issue is where it was moved to and what prompted the move. If people are ripping him a new one in the venomous forum then by all means move those threads. Those threads. As this one was not *HELL* material and you know it.

I was going to send you a P.M. Lucille, until I happened to see the post here in the "HELP!!" forum and I know that you know the movement of that thread prompted that post. You responded to it and so did I. I am still not quite sure how to feel about that. I still like you, I still look up to you. I just don't have to crane my neck up as high anymore.

While we're on the subject. I was willing to abase myself and apologize profusely for being wrong...if I thought I was. Perhaps we should all take responsibility for our actions.

Everything I posted is there in black and green. I stand by my convictions. I did not post to be condescended to or patronized, I posted my feelings and thoughts on a matter. No-one has to agree with me, but I do have a right to my opinions.
 
oh i see....well then i can live without it..haha...id probably be eaten alive there anyway..ha...i just wanted to become a paid participant to help contribute....which was some effort on my part cuz i never use my credit card...so for this occasion..i actually went to the bank and deposited money....:)
