    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Week-old Gecko not eating

Hi folks. We just had our first batch of baby leopard geckos. They hatched last Friday. The first one that hatched shed and then started eating on Tuesday. We think that the second one shed, but we are not sure. She just seems to be terrified of the baby crickets. The other is starting to fatten up and she just does not seem to be thriving.

Any tips out there to get her to eat?

My wife is getting really worried.

I agree, mealworms are a little less intimidating. Just use small sized mealworms. You can introduce crickets later if you'd like.
 
Thanks folks. It did seem interested in the mealies. It licked them a few times. Then, one moved while she was licking it and she freaked out again.

Any more help would be great.

Update

The little critter has started eating! My wife got her to first eat a little baby food. She then got her to eat a little egg yolk. Now, she has begun eating her first crickets!

You might want to try some Crested gecko Diet rather than baby food to supplement this little newbie.

It's much more nutritious and has much less sugar.

If you're going to give it something sweet, it might as well be packed with vitamins and calcium rather than being the reptile equivalent of a can of Pepsi.
