    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well. Where do I start? I have an '06 Pastel female 66% het for anery. She had given me problems eating for about 3 months and me or the vet could not figure it out. Finally she started taking meals, every 2 weeks. Yesterday I came home to 3 hypo babies, 2 slugs. Now the weird thing is, I had never intended on breeding her untill this year, the previous owner had never placed her with a male. The only thing I can think of is there was a time I was cleaning cages and placed my super salmon male with her for about, eh, an hour, 2 at the most. I never worried about something happening, especially since sometimes it takes weeks for a male to get a female pregnant. Wild day huh? So, lesson learned, a snake CAN get pregnant ANY time a male is present, if the conditions are right. Anything like this happen to anyone else?

You might want to try that same pair again and see if you get similar results. Just to rule out any possibilities of speculation. You're depending on the previous owner being gospel with you, AND you didn't think the male had the Anery gene...to me that equals...gotta make sure so I don't make myself look bad down the road by accident.

Well, thats where my suspicions come to an end. Gerry at ssscales is where I got her, he assures me she was never with a male, in fact, when I had purchased her, he had recommended atleast 2 big meals before I even tried. He didn't sell her to me het for anery, after I had purchased her he had told me she was from a DH ghost male x pastel female pairing. I am just amazed that the job got done that quickly, I mean, less than 2 hrs is amazing to me, thats one "motivated" male. And to explain, the only reason I had to place her with him was my wife is bad about borrowing my tubs, then I never get them back, lol.
 
when do we get baby pics lol. Sounds crazy. I cant wait to hear everyone elses thoughts on this. Congrats
 
Crazy! That just sounds to weird to be true. I too would do the same pairing next season.

Finally was able to borrow a digital camera. I just don't like the look of cell phone pictures.

All it takes is for him to deposit sperm. If he leaves enough, and she does what females do when the time comes, then babies will happen. I recall a certain female that held the sperm for 23 months before ovulating, gestating and having her litter. :yesnod:

Yeah, I know, there are no ghost. What had happened was the little ones had went into shed, I had just glanced at them real quick. They have some nice coloring, but definately not a ghost in there, I was bummed.
 
Lol, here is the details of what happened. I haven't messed with this girl for quite some time, I spot clean weekly, change water etc but she likes her cat litter pan to hide in, I hadn't physically seen her in 3-4 days so I am assuming the babies were under the hide with her untill we seen a little head poke out. So when I found the babies, they had went into shed, and I ASSUMED I possible had ghost(s), well, I didn't they are just hypos. Just an all around strange deal for me, I am so used to being prepared AND knowing when babies are coming.
 
But anyways I appreciate everyones post, I was somewhat afraid in posting this experience worried I would be looked down upon for allowing this to happen, as it was an all around complete accident.
 
lol, well congrats on the little hypo babies.. can't hold it against you for not knowing she was gravid, since you didn't purposely breed her.. and.. you learned a valuable lesson.. it doesn't take long for snake impregnation.. LOL
 
I know! When I was younger I was told how hard it is to breed boas, well, to me they are like rabbits! I have never had a year where they didn't breed as of yet. Fingers crossed! Definately never housing male/female together even for 5 minutes, heck, I won't even hold them both at the same time!
