In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Wendy Childs, Reptile Addictions

So it sounds like you are still a Wendy fan? I'm sure you didn't know about all of her dirty laundry in the industry from 2006 prior to her stint in prison. Knowing what you know now, and the fact that she is still continuing her nefarious ways, would you still purchase from her?

A couple of things, JHB...
One: I agree with someone that we are getting COMPLETELY off topic (because we were, and still are) and suddenly I'm a Wendy fan? How did you make that connection? I put two nodding smiley faces and one holding up an "I agree sign". Please tell me where I said "WENDY FAN! WENDY FAN!" or even "NOT A WENDY FAN!". I can't seem to find it.
Actually, I know a lot about Wendy, since you have posted it all on this board. I've looked up her police records. Some of them make me wonder, but her previous career choices do not. I don't judge people for what their job is (you know the kind I'm talking about). I think I have a more open mind than that.
As for the police record that does deter me from wanting to buy from her a little. If she had snakes in my price range, I would probably buy them from her. She lives close enough that I could drive and see it first, so I don't see how I could lose there. I also wouldn't pay anything but cash for that same reason, so I don't think I could get screwed if I walk out of there with an appropriately priced animal within my budget, and she has no way to get any fraud stuff on me. :shrug01: Maybe I'm wrong. But then again I WON'T be purchasing from her since her morphs are higher end and I'm not looking for that right now.
I've got to say that you've really started to repeat yourself. I think anyone who reads these last few pages will get your point very quickly. :yesnod: So I think until there's new information, we should stop bumping this thread with old info.
In Spokane, part of the problem is there's not too many reptile business. It's not as easy as if you lived in Seattle, and you could go somewhere else. Wendy was one of the only places that sold snakes, regardless of prices, AND reptile tanks and equipment.
I'm not saying her store is amazing, or that I'm a fan, but if she were still open for business, I might buy something from her if I couldn't find it at one of the few other reptile stores here. I dont have much of a choice, in terms of other business to go to. (Reptile shows and expos don't even come here to Spokane.)
So, I guess to wrap it up, no, I'm not a Wendy fan. :)
I'm a bargain fan. I like good deals. She just didn't seem to have any within my price range. Nor does anywhere else in Spokane. But I'll keep looking...maybe someone else will bring their business here.
Enough with the off topic. :yesnod:

Spokane is home of the thrifty retail customer. That's why it is a strong test market.

So anyway to bring it back on topic she has scammed and scammed again, but people continue to want to give everyone a second chance. I repeat myself because this particular scammer wanted to try and attack me, someone who follows through on every order that's placed with me every day. Maybe I took it a little personally, but I'm reveling in being able to say I TOLD YOU SO.

Now if you want a bargain you could go in there and haggle hard over something you want. I mean if she acquired everything in that store through deception by writing bad checks she stands to make a 100% profit no matter what. You could offer her $25 on any ball python and she stands to make $25 on the deal. She even wrote bad checks to her rodent supplier so she doesn't even have a feed cost. As long as you can sleep at night over essentially receiving stolen property you're good.

What I don't get, is they busted her butt before for fraud. If she was doing it again, JHB, why wouldn't they have nabbed her this time? MY parents got screwed by our bank simply for insufficient funds (we didn't know a bill had gone through already, and the check bounced). We got slammed with fees.
On the other hand, Spokane police didn't pursue our case when my mother's purse was stolen and it was on camera. They said it wasn't enough money to be worth their time getting back.
So, if Wendy is ripping people off left and right with bad checks like you say, wouldn't the police have caught her--especially if they've caught her in the past? :shrug01: She already has a record. I would think they would have gotten her by now.
What do you think?

So are you saying I'm talking out my fourth point of contact when it comes to the fact that she is writing bad checks? You are right, she does have criminal history with writing bad checks. You've seen the screen shot of the animal she stole from a notable person in the industry with a bad check that someone posted on here. Would you like some more proof?

I also want to point out that it is a pain to try and prosecute someone for check fraud, especially when you live in another city that's far away. I've had an experience where someone wrote be a bad check at a Portland Reptile Expo and I was never able to recover it which is why I don't take checks anymore. That could explain the reason why she has not gotten busted for it. The majority of the people she wrote bad checks to that I know of all live in Seattle or Wyoming. Now this is purely speculative on my part but she switched her supply vendor, Central Pet, rather suddenly. Why on earth would you do that if you are buying from the largest pet product distributor in the region and without a doubt the one that has the best price breaks. This could be because she got Central Pet with bad checks and they cut her off. I do know for a fact that she wrote a bad check the new supply vendor on the very first order she made. They might actually be getting ready to hammer her for it which is why she is busy with getting ready to leave town. She's going out of business again, she's posted her entire store inventory on Fauna again, she's posting ads on Spokane's local Craigslist and mentions she is moving in that ad. Sounds like to me she is getting ready to make a run for it, most likely for legal troubles.

no, I didn't say you were "talking out your fourth point of contract". I was simply asking a question. :yesnod:
I don't know much about pursuing someone for check fraud, but I'm glad that now at least I do know it's a difficult process. Thanks.

Wendy,

Again I never had a store in Spokane. I was an online dealer always and kept hours for local traffic that did not want to buy online. I did move to a new location after I got back from being sent away on this little thing called OEF. I know service to you typically means behind bars or picking up trash in jump suit along side the road but some of us do have a higher calling than that I'm positive someone like yourself will never know the priviledge or honor of that. That's all I have to say about that Wendy Childs............Out
James... remember this post? Waaaaaay back at post 85? Good times, good times.

While I don't side with Wendy myself, you're bringing heavy accusations against her without providing any proof that they're true. It's just hearsay and rumors. If she wrote a bad check for everything in her store, which I'm sure must constitute a fairly substantial amount of money, I think it's odd that she's not in handcuffs by now. Are you saying none of her suppliers, from the people selling her pet supplies, to the animal dealers, right down to her feeder suppliers... not one of those people ever thought to report her frequent bad checks to the police? Again, I don't especially like Wendy myself, but that's a little far fetched.

I'm not a fan of Wendy at all, but I'd like to hear from the people she actually got animals from that she didn't pay for.

Lexie... have you noticed that almost everyone on here that shows from WA is out to get Wendy :shrug01:

An no... I dont condone her criminal history.

Ask and you shall receive. I'm omitting e-mails except mine because I don't want to drag those who sent me the e-mails into this. Watch for my next post with e-mail history. It was also an article in the Spokesman Review earlier this year about certain crimes the police were not going to pursue due to budget cuts. Check fraud was one of those crimes.

You have been added to the list of Creditors on my Bankruptcy.

Thanks to you and your dealings with Dennis and the rassmussens my business have been drastically affected by YOU . This and this action by you is the downfall of my company.

I will be seeking legal advice as to any measures I can take against you for this. All text messages and emails are saved. As well all text messages, craigslist posts, ect. from everyone else you are gossiping to is saved.

The bancrupcy will be filed on Wensday. Once my case is filed, you- the bill collector have to stop any and all communication to with me. By filing bankruptcy, whether it is a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy or a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, the bill collectors have to contact the law firm, not me. In fact, after I file for bankruptcy, it is illegal for a bill collector to continue any collection efforts whatsoever. If you do contact me trying to collect after my case has been filed, it can be a violation of the automatic stay which may have both civil and criminal penalties. The automatic stay is a federal law under 11 U.S.C. § 362 that prohibits all collection activities of creditors and stops most all legal actions against me. Any issues by a creditor must be brought before the bankruptcy court .

Thanks, Wendy Childs

Wendy,

do you need my address? I did not receive any reptiles this week and would like to clarify in your SMS text message that you proclaimed you would be sending them back, your bank has instructed me to resubmit the check, but I thought they didn't allow that...please clarify.

I understand when/if sales get slow and things get out of hand etc, or that check you forgot went through and screwed everything up, we are all human, but please be honest with me.

That's what I was trying to see like 2 posts ago, and he didn't get it.

There was my response to it Miss. Now read the above e-mail between scammer and scammee.

James, that email doesn't make sense. Where's the rest of it?
And how did you get that email? Did you buy the reptiles?
There's no proof anyone BOUGHT anything. :/ Just some anonymous person saying they didn't receive them, and Wendy informing them of bankruptcy laws. Where's the proof? :shrug01:

And I want to see the article where they say that the counties around Spokane, including Spokane itself, are not pursuing ANY cases of fraud due to budget cuts. Please post that article.

Face palms himself. It reads backwards. The person thought from a text they would be receiving the animals they sold to her back since her check bounced. The bank told him to resubmit the returned check but he thought you could not do that. Her response, a week later, was to claim bankruptcy. Or at least e-mail the seller and tell him that she was, whether she has or has not I do not know.
