In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I don't know about the other services, but rumor has it the Hell's Angels may have an objection to them disrupting the funeral of the 9 year old girl.

I'm sure the Patriot Guard Riders will be there in force.

They have an on-going "battle" with WBC and Fred Phelps protesting at military funerals, so I'm sure they'll turn out for this, too.

I support PGR!

So what's the agenda of these people? :shrug01:

I can't copy and paste all the text from the linked story since it has words I don't believe can be posted anywhere but hell.. however part of the story says
"The flier claims that the shooting of both a House member and a federal judge -- the latter of whom was killed -- is god's punishment for judicial and Congressional action against the WBC. "God sent the shooter to shoot you! And He's sitting in Heaven laughing at you!" the announcement reads."

From WIKI (take with a grain of salt)
"The group carries out daily picketing in Topeka (purportedly six per day with fifteen on Sunday) and travels nationally to picket the funerals of gay victims of murder, gay-bashing or people who have died from complications relating to AIDS; other events related or peripherally related to gay people; Kansas City Chiefs football games; and live pop concerts. As of March 2009 the church claims to have participated in over 41,000 protests in over 650 cities since 1991. One of Westboro's followers estimated that the church spends $250,000 a year on picketing"

Arizona legislators have approved an emergency law to head off picketing by a fundamentalist Kansas church near the funeral service for a nine-year-old girl who was killed during a mass shooting in Tucson.

The Arizona bill, which would make it a misdemeanour to picket or conduct other protest activities within 100 metres of a funeral or burial service, comes after the Westboro Baptist Church said it planned to picket Thursday's funeral for Christina Taylor Green because "God sent the shooter to deal with idolatrous America."

Unanimous votes by the House of Representatives and Senate cleared the way for the bill to go to Governor Jan Brewer later Tuesday for her expected signature.

The Westboro church has picketed many military funerals to draw attention to its view that the war deaths are God's punishment for the nation's tolerance of homosexuality.

Arizona politicians denounced the church's plan to picket the funeral of a child.

"This is just horrific that ... people have to deal with this. We shouldn't have to do this in time of great pain for our state," said Senator Kyrsten Sinema.

Christina was the youngest of the six people killed during the shooting at an event held by US representative Gabrielle Giffords, who was among 14 people injured.

Giffords was shot in the head and critically wounded.

Numerous American states have passed laws restricting protests at funerals after members of the Westboro church began protesting at the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Shirley Phelps-Roper, a Westboro church member and a daughter of its pastor, said the prohibition wouldn't matter because church members planned to picket at one of two intersections more than 300 metres from the church where the girl's service will be held.

Phelps-Roper said church members also planned picketing on Friday in conjunction with a service for another victim of the shooting, US District Judge John M Roll.

Senator Paula Aboud said volunteers in Tucson were organising a human shield to block the protesters from view of victim family members.

Senator Sinema said the Arizona legislation was modelled on an Ohio law that was upheld by the 6th US Circuit Court of Appeals.

Without specifically mentioning the Tucson shooting, the proposed law would prohibit protests at or near funeral sites and would be in effect from one hour before the event to one hour after.

It would only apply to funeral and burial sites because courts had struck down picketing prohibitions for procession routes, Sinema said.

pop concerts huh... guess not as much chance of getting your @ss stomped at one of those. maybe someone should tell them lots of gays go to heavy metal concerts :dgrin:

These people need to be exterminated. I place zero value on their lives and would gladly shake the hand of anyone who deals with these protesting jerk offs.

This is what cults do. They take beliefs/religious ideals, twist and mesh them into what is comfortable for themselves and their un-biblical teachings, and then they become the false religious perverts that they are.

They forgot to read a few things in the Bible, one of which is:

John 13:35

I agree Southern Wolf! They have too much time on their hands. Maybe they should take that estimated $250,000 a year they waste in picketing, and donate it to organizations that feed and clothe the needy, and to St. Jude's Hospital to help kids with cancer, etc.. But hey, again, this is a cult we are talking about.

Very sad indeed. :(

What they are saying is disgusting. But they have a right to say it:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/03/us/03scotus.html?_r=1&hp

While they do have the right to say what they will I'm still going to hope that maybe a kindly military aircraft will "accidentally" drop their payload right ontop of that wannabe church/cult's roof. If i lived near these wastes of space i would use my right and stand as close to their "church" as i could with a sign saying "If God hates f*gs then the devil must really love ignorant white trash" or something to that affect. Ugh, i really can't stand this crap. I'm so glad i'm not in an area where they seem to go b/c if i came across a demonstration like this i don't know if i could hold back. Probly end up in jail for beating the crap out of their leader. I might get into trouble but i would stand by my decision.

I had a situation back in high school with a kid saying extremely inflammatory things intentionally trying to get a rise out of people. One day he targeted me b/c he knew i had a pregnant g/f. He said things like "i wanna kick pregnant women in the stomach" and so on and so forth. Well, i took offense and layed down a butt whooping for the ages. I got charged with assault & battery, went to court and the prosecutor yelled at HIM, saying he deserved what he got and she may not agree with me being violent but she would have probably done the same in my situation. So, he may have had the right to free speech I feel like i also had a right to take out the trash :)

That's the problem with these douchebags. If you do stop/beat them up/keep them from protesting, they sue you for violating their civil rights! And they WIN! They then use their winnings to pay for the picketing!

It is a tricky situation because I absolutely despise what they have to say and where they say it. I read once somewhere that the first amendment doesn't protect speech we find acceptable, it protects speech that we find absolutely disgusting and despicable! It kind of clicked with me what exactly the first amendment means when I read that.

Unless they say something that violates the civil rights of another group, we might be stuck with them. Although, I do think it is only a matter of time until someone causes them significant bodily injury!

I guess everyone heard the Supreme Court ruling on this case yesterday. The good news is that 44 states thus far have made it illegal to picket funerals.

It's only a matter of time until someone opens fire on those intolerant, hate-mongering freaks. Probably sooner than later, if they keep picketing (funerals or wherever else).

I agree with Kevin. I think these people need to find a good hobby. They live a miserable life so they have to try and make everyone elses lives miserable too. There are always idiots out there looking to cause trouble instead of minding their own business.

Doesn't matter that those 44 states criminilize. The Supreme Court now handed down a ruling stating that funerals are not protected by free speech ( mind you these jack@sses are not at the actual funeral but nearby ) so those 44 states have to readjust their laws to comply.

Someone always finds the loopholes.

Yes "someone" does. Westboro protested a funeral somewhat local to me. I work for a law firm and it was our job to find the "loophole" to keep these SOBs away from the funeral. Unfortunately they have the right to protest, but loopholes work both ways.

Turns out you can't picket on private property or on the city streets and wouldn't you know it, the drainage ditch was the only area that wasn't privately owned. Once that was published in the local paper the locals showed up in droves and filled the city-owned property for blocks (all holding American flags).

One thing to know about Westboro (as has been written here). They protest EVERYTHING. They continually get published saying they will be at XYZ event. However, 9 out of 10 times either they don't show at all or less than 10 people actually show for the protest. High profile events - yes. Every funeral they say they will be attending - not so much, but boy do they keep their name in print, huh? One minivan from Westboro actually showed up at the funeral here. They were forced to park about 10 blocks away from the cemetery on a route which the funeral procession wouldn't pass. They packed up and left before the funeral even started. I live in a metro area, so why wouldn't they stay? Because they already got exactly what they wanted - lots of mention on t.v./radio/newspapers. Publicity is what drives their crazy - it dries up and so will they.
