In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What are you guys breeding this season?

Just curious what everybody is doing this season. So how about Al, Violette, Craig, John, Tom and everybody else, come to this thread and spill it? That and how are you guys doing this season? Anything ovulating yet?

I am really out of touch with the animals this season because of the move to the new house just prior to cycling. I have a lot of breeding going on but not a good feel yet for what is or is not going the right way. Lot's of potential, that's for sure, but we will see what ends up happening.

So c'mon guys, what's going on at your house? Evan

We are still doing alot with the albinos and pastels. We are hoping for bumblebees as well this year but thats all dependant on our little spider male. Thats about all here.

I'm kicking myself in the ass for not calling you and snatching one of those ghosts you produced, they had to be the best I have seen....

Keep me posted as I'm thinking I would like a few of your 05's in my collection.

Good luck toy you.

Mainly locality specific kings and milks for me. My collection is small but pure (no mutants). I have thorough doucumentation for each speciman and am completely legal with bill of sales, date of aquisition, etc. Being from Ohio I have even placed a back up copy of this data in a safety deposit box at my bank : )

Hey Al, I was really really happy with the color on those guys and it should keep getting better as I breed more of the animals I am raising. I will take care of you this year if I have anything. I have had little breeding from my primary male hypo that fathered the 2004's so I have bred a male pastel behind him just to try to ensure some production.

Yes, Ohio is evil. They will crucify you for your colubrids. If you worked with pythons you could rub your balls in their face and they would be powerless against you!

Things were a bit haphazard for me this year - between new acquisitions, moving stuff around, and not having things set up the way I wanted - but things look good for Dumerils boas, ATBs, Cape York Spotted pythons, Jungle Carpet/Diamond Xs, yellow anacondas, and greybanded kings. Have witnessed copulation of Womas, but I didn't have the temps where I wanted them so who knows. Maybe a few others if things went well (had some stuff together, but did not witness copulation. Fingers are crossed.

This season has been incredible so far. Every eligible female has been locked with a male. I'm going for albinos, possible hetero pieds, and a little secret project. ;)

Dan, don't get too excited with copulation. Wait until they ovulate and lay. It is a bummer of you start planning on all the bred animals producing.

So far I have albino x albino, albino x het, albino x normal, pastel x normal, pastel x pastel, pastel x hypo, hypo x hypo, hypo x het, new hypo x normal, het pied x normal, het carmel x normal and some others. I still have a few to go, maybe pied x normal and hypo x het along with more pastel x normal breedings just for the heck of it. I would be shocked if I hit on more than half of the bred females this year though.

It is a good start to have breeding but many many girls won't do anything or may do something 6 months from now. You just don't always know. E

Well not much here didnt have enough females ..lol..

My pastel has been a stud ..lol...he has breed a bumcj of normals. And the wannabe pastel breed a few.And my het pieds breed once but as a back up I run the pastel by her also my het pied male doesnt seem to be very interested.I seen him lock up once and that was it.I have a few other ball pythons that have breed just kinda messing around projects. And i am hoping to have DH sunglows ,BRB's,and hypos.Thats it fer this year. But next year I will have plenty of female balls.I hope..lol...Hope everyone has a great breeding season.

So Al ya gonna hook me up with a spider?..lol..

Of course. It has happened to me before, and I'm sure it will happen again. But needless to say it's more encouraging to at least verify copulations.

Regards.

I know this is old, but this forum is pretty slow lately, so I'll go ahead and toss in a quick answer: I'm not breeding anything this season. =)

But next season, my new male lemon pastel will be ready to go, and I'll have some normal females for him. I have a younger batch of normals that will be ready for him season after that. So, like many new bp breeders, I'm starting with pastels. Affordable, and one of the best-looking morphs IMO. I hope to get lucky enough to produce enough male lemons to sell to get a male spider to breed to this guy's daughters, and maybe a small group of pied/het pied.

Spider prices are going to fall again, big time this season and again the next year. You would be surprised if you were planning on buying in 2006 how low the price will be then. This year it should be easy to find $4000 or less males and $2500 or lower females.

We have no axanthic projects at all. I do know a great guy in PA that is working with them, if need be I'll hook you guys up.

Sounds great Al.The Girlfriend wants one very bad..lol..So you know how that goes..I have one other guy I am gonna talk to and see if he is gonna produce any normal Axanthics this .He is doing alot of crosses with them so I will just have to check..lol..

Ah, sounds like a good time to buy! Hopefully, I'll get lucky first time out, if not, I can probably scrounge up the cash for a spider at those prices. (See, the breeding is an excuse to buy more snakes, at least at this point. =)

VPI axanthics will not be hard to find: VPI, RDR, BHB, Reptile Industries, Brian Sharp and many others.

Al, I did say "or less" you nitpicker!
