The camera didn't really get all of it's true colors, it has more pink and light purple than what it shows.. And as it goes down and gets closer to the tail it fades out and gets really light..

Any ideas of what it might be?

Thanks
Amanda

Hey Amanda! It looks like what you have there is a jungle corn. It's a cross between a king snake and a cornsnake. Probably an F2 or F3 generation hence the more cornsnake look. It's also what we call albino or amel if you prefer. Very pretty and nice borders on those saddles. :)

I also meant to say that "its my opinion that it's a jungle". Didn't know I couldn't edit on here. LOL

Ok guys thanks so much for the help. Becky sent me a message with pictures and info explain the whole thing and I'll have to agree with all of you now so it's no longer a sunglow lol we are going with Reverse Okeetee ans will watch it grow.. :D

Amanda

Hey Amanda,

I am guessing that this pretty snake is one of your new ones... good for you! How do you like your other new snakes?

Congrats!

Hey Dawn

Thanks! Yeah this is our newest corn snake, very pretty little thing. I really love the bright ones that pop alot of colors, just can't help it lol..

All the new BP's and doing well too..

Amanda

Because that's what it is. You can't really define it as a Reverse Okeetee or Sunglow (which are just selectively bred variations of an Amel) until it's adult coloring has started to come in, which doesn't happen until about two years of age. While it has small white borders now, that doesn't mean it's going to have them into adulthood (just as if it would have no white borders now, it could develop them as it goes into adulthood).

SMR has the most amazing examples of Reverse Okeetees I've ever seen:

Their hatchling photos you can tell without a doubt they're going to be RO's because their bands are almost entirely white:

Now compare to your photos, yours looks like a common Amel. That's not to say it couldn't develop into a RO, but I wouldn't label it as such until it was older.

Huh, well that all very interesting and something to think about & keep in mind. So I guess (I hope) we will find out then in a few years for sure lol. For now it's one or the other. :D
Thanks for the pic, info, and help!

Amanda
