• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

what do you get?

From a het x possible het you will either get
25% albinos
50% hets
25% normals

The above would be IF the possible proves to be a het.

OR

50% hets
50% normals

If the possible is not a het.

yup 50% means that there is a 50% chance that it is het for albino. It was in a clutch and half of the clutch is 100% het for albino but the breeder doesnt know which animals are 100% het and which are 0% het. So all the animals are 50% het

HUH????????????????????

The 50-66-100% het thing refers to an animal's probability for being het for a given trait. When you see 100% het, it implies that the animal is indeed heterozygous for that trait. Any other number (i.e. 50%, 66 2/3%) means that the probability an animal carries the trait is X%. Keep in mind that this is all based on probability and theory. When you see something like a pair yielding 50% albinos and 50% hets, it really means that half of the offspring are albino, and the other half are het for albino. It can be a little confusing in certain circumstances when a breeder advertises animals without spelling out the possibility factor. If you see a "50% het albino" that means that the odds of that animal being heterozygous for albino are one in two. It doesn't mean that the animal is half-het. There's no such thing. An animal either IS or ISN'T het for a recessive trait like albinism. The % just refers to it's probability of being het.

I hope that doesn't muddy the water, but it seems a lot of people don't quite comprehend the terminology.
