In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What do you guys do about spamming in PM or Emails??

I was just wondering what you guys do when your members are complaining that they are being spammed by someone either to join / visit there site or even being spammed by people selling things??? I have had a few individuals who have spammed there websites, breeder pages and forums and when the complaints get over 10 members emailing me and complaining I ask the party to stop and if they dont I make the site name ****** out for a while untill they get the hint... What other methods can be done to stop this kind of activity?? Any input would be great.

24 views and no input??? There are alot of other admins on this site and it would be nice to see how some of you handle situations like this... Anyone???

I don't know about anyone else here, but I haven't had any PM or email spams coming from this site.
Since each mail or PM would have to be done individually rather than through mass mailings it's quite time consuming to spam a large number of people unless they just have way too much time on their hands.
My opinion though, if you're having a problem with a few members doing that, is not to hope they get the hint just ban their IP address after a warning. The first ban could be for 1 month then a repeat offender would be permanent. If they continue to do it after a warning and a temporary ban, they're probably not going to stop and should just be prevented from accessing the site.

Well they would usually get warning points.
Bt it really depends on how bad it is.

If it is bad enough.....I do have the emergency powers of banning.

Just depends really

Jeff,

Honestly I haven't had a problem with that here at all. Which does surprise me. If a member here does something like that, and I am notified about it, they will get warning points for SPAMMING. I think that is a 6 pointer, so it wouldn't be too long before they got booted out of here.

On the rare occasion that someone posts a SPAM message anywhere in the forums, it just gets deleted as soon as it is found.

If you continue to have a problem, list them on the BOI as being a SPAMMER. If they are looking for notoriety, they may get more than they bargained for.

Cool, thanks guys! The only problem is the ones who are doing it are kids (15 - 17)... So i would really feel bad putting them up on the BOI etc... I mean I was that age once and lol i was no better then they are for sure!! :) I guess i was just feeling bad for having to do something about it to these kids but ah well I guess 16 is old enough to know better anyways!! :D

Consider it as a learning experience on their part and you are their teacher. Maybe they will become better adults because of your lesson.
