In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What do you guys think??

13' columbians

Kim
I have seen 13' female columbian and 12+' imperator boas both were females.
I dont know about the 17' maybe he was having a bad spatial relations day...lol God knows I have them..

Ok.... then I stand corrected.... I just have never seen any that big! WOW!

Thanks,
Kim

Kim

It is not very often and it is sad to say but most of them dont live long enough to get that big/
I have only seen 6-8 that large my whole life.
Have a great Christmas
Jewell

Whould they be around 20 yrs old?

To be that big? That is sad. It is seen too often! Mine will live forever!;)
Thanks alot!
Have a great holiday!
Kim

The mother of one of the boas I just purchased was 13'.

When I found that out I was a little surprised but I have heard of females getting that big before. I have also heard that the WC females after being acclimated do tend to be bigger then CB. But of course that’s just what I have heard. I don’t have any personal experience to prove that

Heres an exmple opf one

San Diego Zoo had a really large female Suriname locale boa(bcc) that probably WAS around 13ft. She was a HORSE! When I worked for the Zoo as a keeper, I used tocome by her cage often, and she was ENORMOUS. I think that is the exception rather than the rule, though. Someone told me she passed away recently, bummer.

The Suriname female that Fred mentioned actually holds the record, to the best of my knowledge, for Boa constrictor ssp.

A 17' animal would indeed be wll over the record, so it's a relatively safe bet that he's overestimating sizes.

Suriname Boa Size record....

Ken,

I didnt overestimate the size? I stated that she was *around* 13 ft in length.Thats after seeing her every day for a while. But never said 17 ft?

Fred

Fred, I think that Ken was refering to the original "for sale" ad that stated the boas for sale were all between 13 and 17 feet long. I don't think he was talking about your statement.

Whoops...and whoops again....

Hello, I know you guys are talking about larger then this but I got a good 10-12fter her 50 pounds plus, I put her on my shoulder and her tail and nose can almost touch the ground on either end and im 6ft, she completly dwarfs anything I have ever seen before, she had her first litter of 47 this year, huge babies, we had another litter from a large 8ft female of 27 the were half the size, anyway just figured I would share

Bil Colombian: Freak oddity or common occurence?

Jason,

I had a 10 footer also, about 2 years ago. She came in as a rescue, somebodys pet that had went from house to house, always misplaced by her owners. I think that most of these people were doing drugs and living a rock and roll lifestyle, which didnt allow them to stay in one place very long.
So this monsterous Colombian had been to at least 3 diffrent homes over the span of its wretched life. She had rat bites that were healed, but she looked pretty nice and MAN was she ever a *BEEFER*

Ironically, she never ate while anyone watched. id have to put the rat or rabbit in the cage and leave the room, otherwise no feeding. Sadly, her health was never what it could have been, she had problems from day 1, caused by the lack of care given to her. She passed away 1 year 3 months afterI had her.

I have also seen, in my YOUTH, while hanging out at the beach/boardwalk with all the other metalheads, one of my friends that used to bring his Colombian female down there. I didnt knw any better, was like 20yrs old, and everyone LOVED the snake.
Now that I look back on it , that situation was a p.r. nightmare, a LARGWE(12 ft easy) Colombian boa in a public place(Beach) full of tourists and a HUGE group of enubriated metalheads and rockers(Of which I was one). recipe for disaster. Funny though...NOTHING ever happened to that snake negatively. But the stress on the snake wasnt right. Well thats all for now.
