In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What do you think this is

I got this female in on a trade. I put a vpi motley in to compare for color. Snake is a bright colored pink. Just curious what you guys think she is.

It looks to be a good looking pastel, how long ago did you pick her up?

Chris

Even though it's a pretty snake, exposing her to your collection like you did for that picture is extremely risky. You might want to read into proper quarantine procedures and the risks that you take on in not applying them.

That being said, you can put that kind of pastel genetics into anything and it will improve whatever you breed it to.

Chris

I know the person she came from really well and how good he maintains his snakes. Normally I quaranteen all snakes for a few months. Thanks for the tip though. I should use more caution even when I know where they came from.

I had the same thought, James. As Jeremy immediately noted, even when an animal comes from a "safe" source, there is no sense taking risks.

would you be able to ask the person you got it from for more info?

It does have a very nice light coloration. I wouldn't say harlequin unless you know it came from that line. I wonder if it's some sort of cross? I've seen some very odd colored crosses before. (not saying it is, but really, without more info on where it came from or it's parents, no way to know.)

We could debate it over dinner and a glass of wine;):D:D;)

Only one way to find out, I will have to breed her and see if pink babys come out, lol. Long story short no way to get info on parents. Hopefully she will fatten up nicely, give me a chance this fall to pair up.

Unless that picture is way off on representing how large she is, breeding that snake this season would be extremely irresponsible. Overfeeding for growth is about the largest mistake you can make when breeding boas, possibly only second to breeding them when they aren't ready yet.

Do you know how old she is? How big is she?

that's an awful long flight to NC, better be a good steak dinner
:D

what made you think Harli?

She is over 3 year's old, she is a little over 5' and about 3 1/2" diameter. I dont feel she is to far off from breeding age or size. Just needs to be a little thicker before I feel comfortable.

Saddle shape and body coloration spilling over from the top to the sides without a break in color, although this particular one is more freckled/dirtier than any of the ones I've had (not trying to put your snake down, I think she's a beauty)!.

I do think it has some harly in it though? My .02 anyway?

Brasa steak house where the steak melts in your mouth:thumbsup: Not worth a plane ticket though:(

My smoked prime rib is worth the plane ride, April ;).

On the topic at hand, letting that snake grow naturally for another year is going to give you much better results and add to the snake's longevity as well. Don't get greedy and push her or you're going to screw up a beautiful animal.

Thats a long ride Bill to Ca for dinner and wine.Someone has a crush? lol.

Nope, no crush. Just pure southern hospitality to a very cool lady:thumbsup: I think we've gotten a little bit too much :>off_to<: Sorry jrstang

Chris is right about the age, let her go another year. As far as size, the female at my place that just dropped 20 babies is between 5' - 6', but old enough.

Your right.I already got 4 points yesterday. lol.
Good luck with her Bill and show babies next season when you breed?
