Normally, I just get a mixture of oatbran, wheat bran, oat meal, and wheat germ, add some T-rex cricket diet, and feed apples and carrots. The worms definately seem to like it and they get big. I go through generations like nuts too (about a month from new eggs to beetles). I originally started with regular sized mealworms, but the mealworms got huge, bigger than giant mealworms. HOWEVER, they all died out over the winter, I think some mold got to them, so have to start a new colony with the puny ones.
I'd also would like to put a little more weight on my gecko, so kinda looking to try something new. I was looking for gut loading recipies, but they seem to call for some pretty exotic stuff (spirulina? bee pollen?). Are there any recipes that use easy to get ingredients? I hear the Pro Gecko's gut load is pretty good, anyone have any experience with it?
