    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What is the most you've spent for a snake?

$250 for a WC ATB male (his colours are tremendous; he is pictured on Mike Heinrich's site) and $100 for a WC ATB female, orange and pink. After having them for a little over three months, I realized I was in over my head and turned to Mike Heinrich for help. He was making room for them, and I had arranged to ship them both to him once he had their set ups ready. This is where sensitive readers should stop. The female is a sad story. I had them for four months when one day she showed a bump in her abdomen. I took an emergency personal day to take her to the vet (I knew I was in over my head at that point), got up the next morning and checked on her, only to discover she had died during the night. No warning at all, she was frisky and quick all the week before, and had eaten two mice. Nothing, other than the bump. I felt terrible. Here I thought the male was sick, because he was the problem eater. I panicked and called Mike; basically forced the poor guy to take the male, sight unseen, YESTERDAY if not sooner. Well now in Mike's capable hands he is thriving and eating like a hog. Before she died, I had already made arrangements with Mike to give them to him because I was unable to get the male to eat; he would regurgitate it, or take (mouse) and spit it out. I cried about that poor female I failed for weeks...WC is definately not the way to go if you are not an absolute expert keeper.

Mike renamed him (aptly) Lazarus, and was so impressed with his colours, he decided to keep him as a breeder, and will be mating him to one of his beautiful girls. Take a look at http://www.amazontreeboa.org/amazons.html
but pix do him no justice; turn him one way, he was orange. Turn him the other way, he was red with BEAUTIFUL markings.

Musta been one hell of a snake. LOL

I shouldn't talk. I rented a car (around $400 total), drove to Daytona from Cali (dont recall gas & food, but I didn't want her shipped), rented a hotel for 5 days (couple hundred more), and paid $3000 to Pete Kahl for My albino female in '99. That's close to $4K paid out for one snake.
I shoulda waited. They are a lot cheaper these days. LOL

Ciao,
Rick
