• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

2 cats have been doused with gasoline in the same neighborhood in Massachusetts!!!! I am disgusted and horrified that a human being could do that to an innocent animal, i really am:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

Unfortunately the 2 cats had to be put to sleep because of nerve damage:(
 
that's terrible, sometimes... i just really hate our species.

the more people I meet, the more I like my cats and reptiles.
 
Also, last year(or the year before) some bailed a ball python to a telephone pole :(:(
it's really depressing... Also I found some videos on YouTube of people in Indonesia skinning retics, water monitors and blood pythons in a little hut :(

Being involved in rescue for years I have seen more abuse than most could imagine. It's sad and disgusting how little value some have for another living creature.
 
Basic subliminal cartoons like heck Tom & Jerry teach toddlers that beatin on thay old cat is ok! or skinin a mouse is cool I know we joke about it but we as society have created this Monster Through Lazy Disapline,Absent parents,or just plain get Bullied so many times the Kids lash out on something they can control like a Harmless Cat!
IM no Saint so this is not me preaching just observing Life...

I never thought about that, in regards to the cartoon reference, but you are right. I am so afraid for the future, just from what i observe of kids when they are shopping , or hanging out at, the store i work at. They have absolutely no respect for people, let alone a defenseless animal, so it gets me wondering where their parents are, and if they even care about what their children are doing when they aren't at home.

That is so true. IMO, it's mostly those people that assign little value to themselves. From my experience I have seen little evidence that proves that anyone can value anything else, even an animal if they place no value on themselves (self-esteem)?

I was raised on a steady diet of cartoon mayhem, and I have yet to inflict harm on any animals. But I also had a very nurturing family, which many kids these days lack.

It's one thing to see cartoon depictions of torture, but a completely different thing to think it's okay to inflict that torture on a living, breathing being-regardless of it's species.

I watched the Three Stooges, too, yet I've never poked out anyone's eyes or smacked them over the head with a hammer, or dropped heavy objects on them...although some people do things that make me want to.

I think a lot of it comes down to knowing right from wrong.

:iagree: I was also raised with cartoon but in addition I was on steady diet of old school beatings. Personally, kids these days need that more and more.
 
I was privy to the wonders of cartoons as a child as well (I get a little mortified when i watch them now and actually pay attention to whats going on lol)

BUT

I was taught right from wrong by many people around me...

annnd..

unlike parents now a days...who think they are helping their kids by not smacking them around when they act like heathens....my mother would backhand me in a crowded room if I misbehaved

now...I don't condole beating children or a anything....but I did take a nerf sword (floppy foam thing...no real harm done) to my grandma's cat when I was three years old and altho I didn't even know that I was tormenting this poor cat (I WAS THREE)

well...when I got caught chasing this flipped out cat, waving a floppy nerf sword above my head with intent to challenge said cat to a dual...my grandma sure as heck had some physical advice for me

let's just say I never tried playing like that with an animal again....lol
 
My parents were not afraid to give myself or my brothers and sister a good whack on the bottom if we were misbehaving in public. These days, if a parent did that in say, a department or grocery store, DSS would be called, because a parent was beating their child. At work last night, i asked a group of teen's to stop making out on the seasonal furniture, and i got a ":censored: you witch". That does not go over well with me, and i politely escorted them from the store:D

girl rips kit kat bar open "Mommy pay for it!!" and takes a bite of the candy bar

dude....my mom would have knocked me out, then eaten the kit kat bar herself lol

and the teens...omg! they will scream and rough house around my store, knocking things over and cracking jokes about me running to clean their mess up! pisses me off so much!!!

when I was their age I never would have even dreamed of being so disrespectful out in public

IM old I got Pick a spot on the wall and get them pants pulled down so I can beat your Bleep!I will say as me and my Brother got older we would try and make each other crack a Smirk or Smile so the other one would get another Licken on the Bare Butt.I will say I Never got into any Real trouble either other than some fights.I remember my DAD would say Son this hurts me more than it hurts you to do this Ya Right!
