    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What kind of King do I have?

I have seen pics that look the same as mine. Some people call them a Eastern x Hypo Brooksi & some a Eastern x Hypo Florida. Are those the same kind, just different names? Well here are the pics of my snake. The orange & yellow colors are brighter than they are in the pics.

Well, I concur with the brooksi, but not that it is hypo. Brooksi are Lampropeltis getula floridana/brooksi. Eastern kingsnakes are different than Lgfbrooksi.

Well

Brooks was a sub of Floridana but has since been ignored. So in old books you have the yellow Florida kings labeled brooks and the dark ones labeled floridana. The hobby has never dropped the brooks name but in reality it is a morph of the Floridana.

So you have both because they are the same but from the looks you have a eastern king crossed with the "Brooks Phase" florida king. The hypo is in a het form because only one parent had it. Which means it is in the genes but the snake will look normal. If you breed it to another snake from the same genetic crossing you should get hypos. Hope that helps. If not ask more questions.

looks alot like a florida king, but then i'm an amateur when it comes to this. but i have had them before and that one is the spitting image of a female i had years back. :hehe:

That does look like an intergrade to me. Brooksi occur in southern Florida. They used to be reconized as a separate subspecies (L. g. brooksi), but now they're defined as L. g. floridana which is the same as the Florida kingsnake. Since brooksi do have an appearance unique to a specific locale, most people still refer to them as brooksi, while others now call them South Florida kings. Don't get that mixed up with the regular Florida kings though because there is usually a big price difference between the two. :>poke2<:

For the record, Eastern kings are L. g. getula. I have a couple of Eastern x brooksi crosses myself. They grow up to be pretty nice. I'll try to get a few shots up here.

Eastern x hypo brooksi would make it het for hypo, not an actual hypo.
