    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello all, I am new to king snakes, but have been raising snakes for many years, so I know this is a newbie question. Sorry.

I just bought this beautiful baby girl this past weekend at a local reptile show in northeastern MD. It was sold to me as a Hypo brooks. What does the hypo mean in this case?

Makes no difference to me as I love the coloration and pattern, just curious. I saw several other patterns such as ghost, florida, and california kings that were noted as being hypo. So I'm confused. :shrug01:

I also attached a picture of my columbian rainbow and pinstriped ball python just for fun. :)

Hypo (short for hypomelanistic) animals are lack some, but not all, of their dark pigment. The general affect is to make them lighter/brighter.
