In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What morph is he?

Hello, I am very curious what morph my leopard gecko is. Can you please assist me on what morph he really is? I believe he is rare, for I have done my research and cannot find an exact morph. I think he is either a Black Night, Mack Snow Melanistic, Mack Snow Black Pearl or even possible Melanistic het Murphy. Here are some pictures I was able to take of him.

If you are so confident he is something other then a wild type then breed him out and see what he produces, otherwise its just speculation. Ive seen plenty of dark normals and what they call HIGH yellow normals. This just looks like a dark normal.

Fizz, only the breeder knows what morph your gecko is. Visually IDing leo morphs is near impossible except for some very distinctive morphs, and only then when they aren't combined with any others, and even then knowledgeable people can be fooled.

You don't have a black night unless you paid for one; these simply don't show up in pet stores or rescues or what have you. Sorry.

Your leo looks for all the world like a dark-ish normal; there is no reason, based on appearance or anything else, to suspect otherwise. Leopard geckos without background info from the breeder are "NOID" ('no ID').

Aaacckk, I just realized I'm carrying on a conversation in the classified section....

Mods, would you please move this thread to the leopard gecko discussion forum? Thank you!

If you didn't pay $2000 for him, he's not a black night or black pearl.

I rescued him from a mom and pop pet store. They have no idea about them, not even the age or sex. They said they got him from a local that could no longer keep him. It is very possible he is any of the morphs I have listed above. I have found pictures very similar to those morphs that he looks like. I have yet to find a ‘normal’ That he looks like. Unless you want to show me a normal he looks like then I will continue to say he’s not a normal.

Did you just recently get it? It kind of looks like in shed?

Edit to add - in a lot of animals 'normal' is highly variable. Just because you haven't seen photos doesn't mean it can't be so - most people take photos of their best looking animals.
My leo experience is very limited but my first guess upon seeing the photos was a dark normal.

If he was a high end morph, why would his previous owner have given him away instead of selling him? I have seen plenty of normals that look like him. You asked the question, it has been answered by multiple people.

AbsoluteApril, the only picture he looks like that you posted is the last one. And still the coloration is off and his tail is not the same. And there is nothing saying that leo is a normal. He was asking if it was normal for him not to eat in 2 days.

Yes I recently got him. And he just turned gray yesterday and shed today. I haven’t seen him since he has shed because I left him alone in his hide .

When I had my store I had people give me morphs that were worth a bit of money. Nothing like a $2000 leopard gecko but pastel balls (when they were actually worth more than normals ;)) Corns beyond the albino, anery, snow types. A collection of ball pythons that had several that were supposedly het for pied and albino and the like so it does happen. Sometimes people just have to get rid of their animals. On the balls I had no proof but he was just giving hem to me for nothing so he really gained nothing by lying to me. I sold them all off as normals.

But I digress. My first thought on the LG in question was a dark normal as well.
