    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What should i do?

Here are a couple things that come to mind.

  • Raise the prices on the geckos?

  • Charge a flat rate of $50.00

    Votes: 14 31.8%

  • Charge real weight price plus $5.00 box,$1.00 per heat pack,and a $5.00 charge for gas and time?

  • or just shut up?

I guess we will just have to replay this topic in about 3 months to see how we were all affected in sales.

I know a cost saving method! Lets do the Reptile Breeders Hands Across America every Monday.. we can just pass the shipments along the line till it gets to the right state and the buyer can just pick it up at the line!
 
After talking to Tremper,Bell,Brant,Mack,Hue and all of your points of view.I am going to a flat rate of $50.00 for the 12x9x6 and more on the larger boxs.I will also raise the price on a few geckos not alot of them.If people do not want to pay $50.00 they can go eles were.My geckos speak for them selfes.I have top noch geckos at very fair prices.Thank you all for your 2 cents. :smokin:
 
The Circle of Life

Think of it this way- you may lose a few customers to lower price shippers/geckos from other places, but eventually, those same people will have to shut down because of their losses. When the dust settles, only those who charge what it actually costs them will be left. It may take a while, but it works out. The name of the game is high quality geckos...if you have what everyone else has to have, then they become blind (mostly) to prices.
 
I voted to raise the shipping price, everyone else seems to be doing it also. You also can tell your customers to save on shipping by buying more then one at a time.
 
the fuel surcharge that UPS has been adding is a killer for sure. I lost a little on a few shipments. UPS overnight from PA to CA cost me $58.00 $8.56 was the fuel surcharge.
it's nuts but i'm sure as soon as the gas prices go down UPS will stop charging the fuel surcharge :laugh:
