In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So once i had a california king, i got bored of it and my friend wanted it so he now has it. That was a long time ago now i have had my ball python for about 9 months and want a second snake. Ive been thinking about it for a while. I want something bigger, not really more than 9ft approx, but i want it to be exotic really good looking. Not to overpriced and not crazy agressive but at the same time i will handle it a lot so this is a minimal concern. Its not to exotic but the only thing on my list right now is a red tail boa.......any suggestions from everyone would be appreciated since i dont know about many species but do know how to care for a snake. Price is also a concern i dont want to spend more than 250$ on a snake.
Thanks everyone

Jungle carpet or jungle/diamond comes to mind immediately.
or red bloods
various boas, if you choose that route
There are a whole list of choices, depending on the look you want
here are a couple examples

All great choices. I personally like the red tails myself but like Harald siad, it depends on what look you want.

why not get a REAL snake!!! :reddevil:

Well, aside from whatever personal reasons he may have for wanting to limit the size to under 9 ft, he lives in the same state I do. That means that most of what we might consider REAL SNAKES are illegal. Tell me again why I live here?

snakes under 9ft are for sissy's!!! :)

where the heck do you live harold... afganistan? :raspberry

over here in washington we fight for our right to keep reptiles. :)

retics are cool , but they do require alot of space . i myself prefer boas . bci's are in my mind such a perfect critter . they get big enough to to feel like your dealing with something substantal , yet they stay small enough to not need there own bedroom for a cage . me , i just like the way they look . i mean how could anyone not be happy with a critter that looks as nice as this

here ya go... this super dwarf will pop out some less than 9ft retics for ya! :)
Sure she will...but how long will they stay that way (they're all under 9 ft when they're popped out...and we've had that conversation about the size of dwarfs/superdwarfs)

sure, just maintenance feed them and they will stay under 2ft....

i promise they stay that small! :hehe:

you know i wouldn't do the disservice of calling these little beauties super dwarfs (without kidding around)... the gravid female above is actually a kayuadi, but if you asked for proof all i could say is that she is not a jamp, since i didn't get her from a "reputable" importer and dont have any proof of her locality (but who does anyway?).

these snakes float around the 10ft mark (kayuadi locale)... with maybe a one in a thousand getting to 15ft.

now excuse me while i go play with my 20ft man eating retic. :) :reddevil:

all those snakes are awesome, if i could id get one of each but unfortionately i can only get one more snake.

If you're looking for the biggest feel you can get in a sub-9 ft. package, then a female blood is certainly the way to go. I breed bloods, retics, and burms and a big female blood has the same feel as say a 14 ft. retic... but unfortunately they can't eat you!
