In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I would like some input on which size is best for adults. I am thinking either 5" or 7.5" for 35qt to 41qt tubs. Also thinking of going with the "Ethical Products Crock Dish." Has anyone used these, or are there better ones out there? Thanks!

On my racks that do not come with deli cup holders molded in I use crocks that hold the 8 oz deli cups or dog bowls. I like using plastic dog bowls from Walmart that are $.97 each. They are easy to clean and provide enough space for large females to lay in when in shed. If you are bringing snakes back from shows or your quarantine rack, you can see any possible mites very easily. The snakes also use them as a hide as well. The larger snakes in a 70 quart tub makes it hard to close sometimes, but the smaller snakes in a 35 quart tub wrap around it inside.

None of my snakes soak in their bowls so I don't provide bowls to do so.
I use mostly 5 inch crocks but have few larger ones also.

Mine only lay in them when in shed. I forgot they also provide a good amount of humidity. San Diego is not known to be humid so the more water the better it is in the tub. They do get annoying during feeding time when the snakes are using them as a hide. That's the perfect time to clean them then provide a clean water bowl with fresh water.

I have large and medium sized ceramic dishes and switch them out periodically. They are 5" and 10" and a couple in between. My climate is really humid and I've never had a BP soak even in shed. They do like exploring underwater in the big ones but overall, humid hides work just fine!
