Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

last fall i went into my backyard, and by the pool was a garter snake that was found by 1 of our "lovely cats", so i took it in and its doing good now. will it be OK to release him back into the yard? or should i just keep him and let him live his life out as one of our pets?

I would release him after it warms up a little, but that's up to you. If you plan on keeping him I would check any state regulations first, just to make sure you can keep him.
 
i would rather plan on releasing him after spring, but if hes not gonna b-able too fend for him self, i would keep him.

any other info on that sort of stuff would be greatley appreciated, like is he gonna b able too get food on his own, is he gonna b able too get water on his own....etc.......etc.....

hes a snake, if he was wild before you got him, he will be wild when he leaves you. Dont release him till you know temps are safe, and no more snow is on its way. But other than that, he should be one happy Garter.
 
ok cool, i just didnt wanna release him back into the wild and worry about him. and of course i would wait till temps got up up! i was thinking maybe in late may or early june so i know for sure that the temps dont get to cold at night.

even if you kept him most states have laws against keeping wild cought animals. even if they are wounded.
