    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

As many of you have probably read, I unexpectedly had a surprise clutch of eggs. Well, Last night after getting home, we discovered the smell of death coming from our reptile room. All my snakes are alive but I found 3 of the 5 eggs in the clutch to be turning a brownish color and the smell coming from the tank where the mama snake has been taking care of her eggs. I have been maintaining a 70-75% humidity level and making sure mama is not being disturbed. My question is will the bad eggs harm the good ones or do I need to remove them? and if I need to remove them, how do I do so without harming the good ones?

Your humidity is way too low. It should be 90% minimum. The bad eggs can be removed if you are careful not to damage any good ones. What temp are you keeping the eggs at in the spot where the mother is coiled? Has she abandoned the entire clutch now?

The temp is between 85-90 degrees. the mother is staying on the two good eggs but trying to push the bad ones away. we are making a make shift incubator and removing the clutch so that we can remove the bad eggs and hopefully save the last two by artificial incubating them. It was an unexpected arrival.

You may not be able to separate the eggs without damaging the others; at least not without cutting the bad ones off, which will be disgusting (do it outside, if you decide to take that course).
You might want to candle the remaining eggs before spending money on a thermostat for an incubator. The fact that they haven't turned color and started to smell yet doesn't mean they're good.

We plan on candling the remaining two that seem to be good. I am hoping we are able to at least save one if not both of them.

Only slightly. there are big veins when candled. lets hope for the best with these two. they are in their make shift incubator that we learned to make from snakebytes using an underwater heater, Styrofoam container, plastic container, perlite and vermaclite or however it is spelled. Just checked on them 30 minutes after putting them in amd the dimples are going away. I will check on them again i. a few hours before bed.

Temp is staying 88-89 degrees. Humidity is a constant 90%. The eggs are doing very well. Washed the tank and everything in it including mama snake but she still wont accept food. Going to try again tomorrow with a mouse. She is back to her cuddling self when being held and doesnt feel like she lost much weight if any. A little over a month left before the hatch date.
