    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just from reading people tell me moist paper towel that you moisten everyday. If you plan on them laying eggs I read some people say soil or peat moss. If this is wrong please correct me.

I use eco earth coco fiber, I used to use vermiculite but found that they tended to eat it and I haven't had any of those type problems with the coco fiber. Peat moss is also good.

I use undied paper towels for hatchlings. It dries out fast though and you have to spray it down every day or so. For my sub adults and adults I use Bed a Beast. I was using peat moss with a small amount of vermiculite added to it probally 4 to 1 on the mix. I never had any problems with them eating it but the Bed a Beast seems to working pretty good. The only problem I have had with it was I had one box that molded on me in like 2 days. After talking with Robin from R2 Reptiles I have started putting the stuff in the microwave for a little bit. Since doing this I haven't had any more problems with mold.

I grabbed some peat moss since I couldn't find any vermiculite.

Where can I get coco fiber?

Where can I get bed a beast?

I used vermiculite years ago when I kept geckos and loved it because it stayed moist and kept warmth but I am up to considering anything that might be better.

"Bed a Beast" is coconut fiber. There are several other brands including Eco-Earth. It comes in bricks that you mix with water. They expand and hold a lot of water.

Most pet stores that sell reptiles carry it, as do the chains.

Yeah, most pet stores sell it, I had the lcoal pet shop order mine, it was $8 for 3 bricks. You can get it online at reptiledirect.com but its cheaper if you can find it local and not pay the shipping sinc eit is really heavy.

I will look for the coco-fiber

The peat moss appears to be working - they are hanging out in there
