    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

what would you do

Dan yea your right about the corns but those came to me sick after being in the care of some people i knew. those are the only animals that have died in my care. i do remember them. and about the fat tails after i said 20$ and i believe it was for both i said if you'd pick them up id give them to you for free. after you said you couldnt meet up i gave them to a friend who knew about them as much as you. the kingsnake wasnt mine but it was my responsibility. when he was given to me to care for and to take to the vet that moment right then and there he was mine and my responsibility. the hell i could raise in that vet office would be nothing compared to that my boss would. as i said before i live in the worst of neighborhoods and the people i grew up with and the people he knows arent the best of negotiaters so thats why i come to this classifieds to find out what i can do or what he can do. i wanted to know what can be done legally. i believe the vet himself was a collecter. i was thinking he might have taken it because the whole thing sounds like bull. first 200$ then 50$ then free cuz it was for me and my brother. then he dies on the vets off day and gets creamated without even telling me he died or if we'd alow them to do so. and he cant say he forgot the number because when i personally visited my brothers name and my house number was on a board written big and in marker. so im curious as to what really happened to the snake. cuz the snake has about 4 lumps when he came to my house, then he released one and had about 3 left. we took it to the vet and he said it can die within days but the snake had been like that for about a month and if he passed one through he could pass all of them at some point.
we'll hey guys im sorry for the way ive acted this whole time. i will promise to increase my knowledge but not to stop taking in animals because i cant turn any animals down no matter what they are. i usually only take in reptiles because im not allergic to them but i also take in birds and rodents. my mom is quite good with birds and my brothers with small animals/rodents. but i do place all animals or mostly all into good homes and the worst of the worst i keep. its just me to take in these animals and i cant stop for anyone. what i can stop doing is buying animals i know nothing about. the last time i purchased a reptile was the day of the show which was jan15th. so again im sorry for the way ive acted.

Thanks for answering all my questions.

Now, to answer your original post:

You should not do anything. It was not your snake, nor did you have the authority to authorize or deny its treatment. If everything you said is accurate, you should post the name of the vet so that others may avoid him completely.
I agree. For any vet not to keep records is a sign of neglectfullness on their part.

Naem, you should post the clinic and the vets name, so that others that read this will be able to avoid them and not lose their prized animals too.

Its on "Crossbay" Blvd and a good bulk of thier business is pet shop referrals. I managed a pet shop about 15 years ago that used them exclusively and I never had a problem with them. I'm not familiar with the doctor you visited with but I cant imagine he would decide a common king snake would be a good choice to steal. I would be more inclined to believe your snake got loose and they used the cremation excuse because they couldnt produce a body.

you might be right but i still dont buy the story. i really wont ever go to them ever again. id rather go further away to a better one than that one. but ohwell its in the past now and ill just have to move on. thanks for your view but it cant change the way i feel about them.

alright now kids lets play nice. nothing worse than fellow herptoculturists that can't get along. lets stick together. we're all we've got. happy herpers=happy herps!

Back to the original point of the post, I believe that what the veterinarian did was wrong on a great many levels. At the very least, the snake should have been autopsied, and the owner contacted before the body was disposed of. Cremation of the body without contacting the owner was unethical...if not illegal. That last, I'm not sure about. A lot depends on the local laws, and what paperwork might have been signed.
For the veterinarian to offer a corn snake as replacement for the king strikes me as HIGHLY peculiar.
