In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What would you do ?

Cheryl.... I was just fooling around.... there was nothing personal in it....

As far as your question.... I'm not a lawyer, but, I'm pretty sure that "kickbacks" ARE illegal.... it's CERTAINLY immoral and unethical, though!!

I'm with Gary on this.... he did the right thing by switching companies.... I sure would have! That's BULL!

Like many others, I'd be extremely interested in knowing who dealers A & B actually are, as I'd prefer to avoid unintentionally doing business with either.

Well from some of the responses I guess you guys see it the same way I do. It really made me insane !!! The person who was described as player " A " say I should report them to the better business bureau which I personally feel is a joke . Like I said it's their loss but they may never realize that since I am not a big player in the reptile industry.

Gary

are we going to get the names out of you????

Gary,

I'm woundering if we are going to be able to get the names of dealer A abd B. As I personally would not want to do business with either of them.

Names WOULD be nice...

If dealer "A" feels THAT much pressure from dealer "B" about doing business with YOU, it probably won't take long before dealer "B" is throwing their proverbial weight around again on someone else, and someone else, and so on. So it would be nice if we don't end up in the same boat you and player "A" were tossed into.

Dealer "A" has every right to charge whatever price he likes regardless of what dealer "B" has to say about it. Of course, dealer "A" has every right to be a complete PUSS/brown-noser/pushover/wussy, etc. and let dealer "B" make his business decisions for him and run all over him. However, if dealer "A" is treating you like this just because it is YOU, I am pretty sure that there is some legal precedent being violated there. If he is putting a specific price on his website, and then charging you more(unless he has a "if you are Gary Walsch you must add 25% to all prices" clause posted on his site), that is called a Bait & Switch and last time I checked that was illegal.

In my opinion, dealer "B" shouldn't really give a rat's a$$ about who dealer "A" is doing business with. Apparently, dealer "B" is dealer "A's" biggest customer for a reason, but I guess soon enough he is going ot be his ONLY customer is dealer "A" keeps bending over for him.

OH well, glad you found a better source Gary, but still, clue us in as even though no money was directly lost on your end, it is still very shady and quite possibly/probably illegal and both vendors should be avoided.

Gary,

It's nice that you consider the opinions of those who post on the BOI of enough import for you to ask for them in a difficult situation. It is also good that you are not going to subject yourself to doing business with those who are obviously less than honorable in their business practices.

However, I wonder if you might not do us the courtesy of allowing us all the same choice you made. I too would like to make certain that neither dealer "A" nor "B" gets my business, if that is the type of loyalty/honesty I can hope to encounter. You referred people to these dealers when they were loyal and honest, won't you now warn us of them now that they are not?

:(

Gary - Cut dealer B ( Neil :) off by going with another supplier. Even if it is a small profit he's making with your business, cutting him (dealer B/Neil) off will certainly have long-term ramifications

Sory Stephen but Neil is not involved in this at all, with the exception of his posting to this thread.

Not only that but the situation that I am in won't affect any body else unless they live and or work in the broward/palm beach area anyway. And since I am not out any money I am still not sure it would be fair to cost them business.

Gary

do they sell anything else? animals? supplies? do they ship anything? if so, it COULD affect us, and i think we should know. just my personal opinion. but ultimately, it's up to you to do what you think is right.

Do some more shopping around. Find the next best price that you can, and then buy from Dealer C. Once you become a customer of dealer C, I would suggest telling both Dealer A and Dealer B where to put their cages and it would be somewhere that the sun does not usually shine, which of course could be the basement or some other scary place.

I already found a dealer " C " for my cages and as it turns out he is a good friend of dealer " A " and even he thinks he made a bonehead decision. But I seriously doubt either dealer " A " or dealer " B " will ever see another dime from me !

Gary

Gary.... be VERY careful!!

IF A = B and B = C.... that means that.... A = C !!!

Dealer A could very well be Dealer C in DISGUISE!! Ahhhhhhhh..... lmao
