In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

whats a good snake

how big do they get? and do they havr any other colors (kinda looking for unusual colors or patterns; ex:http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17654 yes thats a cornsnake i think but i dont want a "common" snake lol just giving you ideas of what im truely looking at in species and another ex: in the very top few picshttp://gartersnakemorph.com/New-Acquisitions.php)

Bamboo rat snakes (Oreocryptophis porphyraceus sp) might be of interest to you...but they average in the 3-3.5 ft range (some up to 4).

Have you thought about Rainbow Boas? They are stunning snakes.

Just look at some of the pics here and in other threads http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=444822
I have several and bred two this past season. OP has a tank, due to their humidity requirements he would need to buy a different setup for them. Babies require 90+% humidity, juveniles 80-90%, adults over 75%.

They are beautiful snakes, a bit nippy when young but they do mellow out, awesome feeders that will readily take f/t, and they top out at around six feet. While the babies like to hide or burrow, the adults make good display snakes.

can you handle them though just to handle them? also I dont think I can have a rainbow boa :/ i already bought a 10 gal tank and I would always need to mist it anyways to keep the humidity up but i dont think I can make it 90 for my room especially at night time :/ it would loose it eventually at night time a possibly cool off, wouldnt it? if so I dont think I could keep the humidity up high enough for a baby rainbow boa e.e (just trying to be realistic here and try not to harm the snake with a lack of 90 humidity)

Two words: humid hide

I like HH Moore's recommendation of carpet pythons. You have lots of choices to choose from, pretty forgiving as far a husbandry, and don't get too big. They stay slender and do like to perch, tolerate handling well.

its depends on if they have it at the reptile expo :/ im considering a carpet python but I want a back up choose just in case they dont have any at the expo. And I like options too

I have both etbs and gtps, they are pretty laid back in my experience if you know what you're doing. If you go that route then tread carefully because they will reward you if you stay on top of things, but will crash very easily if you slip up. Granted they are not made of glass either. Also, buy CB animals and if you choose farmed animals then make sure it's Bushmaster stock. Preferably you will buy from a breeder that will offer plenty of follow up support, which will be needed when you're just getting the little guy in the door, but once established they are very low maintanence and generally problem free. Handeling is debatable, I handle mine a little every week to make sure they keep good muscle tone. Removable branches make this a lot easier.

Carpets are fun too.

Good luck.

yeaa see this confuses me because people say GTB and GTP are mean and are agressesive yet I see people handling adult and babie of those species and there laid back ...it confuses me really

There are a few aggressive ones, but most just do not care. If your heart is set on a gtp/etb and just those then pick up an an already established cb adult, they will be a little more user friendly. If you are not 100% sure what you want then give carpets, balls, whatever a try. I really like my blood pythons, even though they do not climb.

Good luck

Ditch the tank, tubs all the way for young ones and custom cages for the adults.

I bought it from a person thats built especially for snakes it slides out and has a pin in the middle so it cant escape. also im sorta new to the snake world lol so whats a tub? and yeaa I thought about getting a arboreal cage from this person:http://pvccages.com/arboreal-snake-cages/ but sense so many people said bad things about GTP and GTB's i decided not to get it
