In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Whats my snake worth?

I have a 12ft female albino python, about 3years old, very friendly and eating pre killed rabbits.
We were given her and a large custom built tank to pay off a debt someone owed us.
The guy said something about her breeding and producing green maze.

We also have an 8ft X 8ft X 2ft custom built tank that stands about 5ft high on a large stand. It has ceramic heating, a black light inside, an outside dial for the light, as well as a black light inside and a separate feeding door.

Can someone give me a rough idea for a price for the snake and tank separate?

Thanks!!!!!

Here's a few pictures.
She is a beautiful snake, these pictures don't do her justice.

You're lookin at $200-400 for her (if indeed a proven female) and the cage seems unsafe.

How come so little?
I thought the bigger they are the more expensive they get! A baby is between 50-100 right?
I thought she'd be closer to $600!

The tank is very stable, and extremely well built!

albino burms are just that. albino burms. the most popular recessive gene animal i think there is. so there just isn't a high asking price for females that size.

no such thing as green maze i think he pulled a fast one on you hope he did not owe you a lot of money poor snake getting given away for a debt. hope you can take care of him or decide to come down on the price big time

The moron could have possibly meant the snake is a heterozygous(recessive gene carrier) for the green/patternless, and labyrinth trait, which simply put is another word for "maze". But who the heck knows. Without KNOWING it's genetic background, it is really just another amel Burmese.

I'll agree 200-300 on a good day. I have two big albinos I paid $150 and $175. Both 12-14ft. They take a lot of room and eat a lot. That hurts the adult price too

I think it also depends on whether you are gonna ship her or not too. Long before I knew about this wonderful place and the fact you can ship snakes, I had to let mine go (10ft) for $60 because I couldn't find a buyer. Of course that was 10 years ago and things have changed. There will be a lot more people on here that would want her than someone local IMO. Good luck.

8ft long x 8ft wide????? Sorry, but that's hard to believe. The dimensions just don't work...you couldn't get the cage through a door...and, even disassembled, it would be a chore to reassemble it in most rooms. Only 2 feet high means one would literally have to crawl inside to clean it. (even if the top was fully removable (in a couple of pieces), being on a 3 fot stand would still make the process pretty awkward, lol) How big is it really?

Lol Uniat notice that yhea pretty big tank gonna take an army to move that one lmao. I think the reason she is posting this is because she had put her on craigslist asking a refining fee I called about it and she said she wanted a $1000.00 for all so I asked how much just for her and she said to make offer I did $150 for her and he said no way. So I bet she has had more than me call her an tell her that it is not worth $1000. So she comes on here to find the truth that it is not worth that. The only one gonna suffer here is the snake. If they took it in to settle a debt chances are the guy who gave them it said it was rare and worth alot more than it really is. So they took it and I would bet my life on it that they have no idea on how to take care of it probably has not ate since they got it but who knows hope that she finds a home for it soon

Unfortunately, that is also exactly how I see it too. Albino Burmese are as common as rocks in the hobby, and many people find that they want to get rid of them at right about this very size due to the "inconvenience" and size. And unless someone is a breeder and wanting it for breeding purposes, most people don't want to start out with a 10 footer either. They would rather start out with a cute little 20 incher, THEN get tired of it later on and try to un-load it..LOL!!!

Yep, only worth a couple hundred on a very GOOD DAY!, and to a fairly limited group at that. Shipping a snake that big would cost far more than the snake is worth too......... if it is shipped correctly that is.

This is going to be a good "live and learn" experience I think, and I hope to hell the snake doesn't suffer big-time because of it.

Doug,
You hit it right on the nose. I hope no one gets her to ship her. Like we do not have enough promblems with the big snakes all ready. With someone like this that has no experience shipping never mind a 12 footer I can picture it now she would ship ups in a non insulated box no heat packs nothing and then it escapes 12 foot burm scares the driver clawing hi
A 200 car pile up.no good!

I think you are really stretching it and assuming way to much here. Are you scorned she wouldn't sell it to you? Sure sounds like it.

Lol no just wondering why people would take in an animal that they no nothing about then try selling it for the price of gold far from being mad just do not want to read the paper one day about her letting it go because her price is to high and she can not get rid of it or ends up hurting someone. No one should own a 9 ft or bigger without experience and to take one in trade is just crazy hope she does find a good home for it soon

black lights? I sure hope you don't mean those dark blue florescents that are used to make posters glow? If so, please take them out, those types of lights are not good for reptiles as they can cause eye issues (blindness).
Just throwing in those $0.02

Good luck

Yes, "black light" bulbs are EXTREMELY harmful to reptiles with prolonged exposure.

Geez, I get a bad feeling with all this so far. :shrug01:
