• In case most of you have not noticed, I made changes to the donation amounts as well as the durations for all of the paid membership levels. Things are winding down here, and this seems to be the most prudent way to deal with the "end of life" period of this site.

    Contributor level members - $10 per 30 days
    Sponsors - Eliminated
    Benefactor level members - $25 per 30 days
    Endowment level members - $50 per 30 days

    On July 1, 2027, all paid memberships will be closed.

    On August 1, 2027, FaunaClassifieds will be terminated.

    Only change I expect that might take place is when I can get around to figuring out when the amount of money I would have to refund for the yearly paid memberships becomes less than the monthly expense of leasing my server, THAT date might be the termination date for the site.

Hey everyone,

Just doing some research regarding bloodline & breeders. So as I notice the habits of "big breeders". I question the habits of true hobbyist or novelist. When do you begin cooling down your animals ? While we don't have the ability of always having several racks, rooms, and facilities. I have heard of some people just introducing animals with no cool down phase. I ponder the following;

1. Do you begin cool down/cycle temps from birth ?
2. When do you begin to cool down newly acquired animals ?

(Please respond according to your own best practices).

I don't cool down for breeding.

All new critters are quarantined / kept in isolation under a different roof/HVAC for 90 days before being brought into my house.

I don't cool them. I breed year round. The female will breed when she's ready, not based on some imaginary calendar that she can't read anyway...
