In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

When was everybody first snake bite, and where did the snake bite you at? mine was only a garter snake, It bite me underneath the skin, next to my right thumb.

When I was in College, I picked up a BP that someone told me was vicious. I said... "Nawwww... No way"

Sure enough, this sucker tried to eat my hand. Between my thumb and my pointer finger on my right hand, wouldn't let go for anything.

Had to run warm water over its head.

Turns out the dood who owned it fed it only one mouse per MONTH. It was hungry.

SO! I took it home with me. Her name is Bitey, and even though since then she has yet to bite me, she is one of my favorites :)

:D

My first pet snake was a burm and on two occasions he tried to take me as live prey due to his crazy feeding response. The first time he was slightly over 6 feet and got me right on the hand by my thumb, the nice meaty area. It took a half hour of constriction before he realized that he wasn't getting anywhere and let me go.

A year later he got me in the same spot only he was 8-9 feet, that time I knew it would be awhile before he let me go so I sat down and watched the simpsons. He coiled me clear up to my shoulder on that one.

Sorry about laughing! I have yet to be bitten by any snakes, though many have tried. But, I just couldn't see myself plopping down on the couch to watch my favorite television show, knowing that I was in the process of an attempted eating.

Even though I keep all boas now, my first snake bite was from a BP. I was fourteen and got the bright idea to feed my BP a live mouse by hanging the mouse from my fingers, well the snake went right past the mouse and got hold of one of my fingers. I was bitten more often by BPs than any other snake I have kept.

Here is a pic of a good one.

I was 11 or 12 and i caught a Gopher or some sort of water snake and needless to say it got me right in the thumb. At that time period i had caught 3 or 4 - 4+ foot Black Snakes and probably 10 - 15 Water Snakes (snakes that lived near the water) and it seems the smaller snakes had something to prove. None of the big snakes ever tried to bite.

I think my first snake bite was bite by a garter snake when I was 5.
It bite me about 300 times on my stomach, my dad told me it looked like I got pricked with needles.
It bit me a few times in the hands too.

I had owned my first snake for three or so months and was letting him (baby ball python) crawl around on my desk for a brief supervised period. I reached over to move a plastic bottle cap out of his way. Unforunately he interpreted that was "swift large thing moving swiftly at head" and struck defensively. He tagged me on the index finger.

I had actually expected the first snake bite to be from a young defensive baby carpet which I had just had shipped to me about a week prior. It took the carpet about three weeks to figure out I wasn't going to "eat him" every time I opened the cage.

The most amusing snake bite I've ever had was a young thayeri kingsnake, smaller in diameter than my pinky (I have small hands) trying to eat my finger

Mine was from a cali king. I had him out on my bedroom floor and stepped in front of him to stop him from getting through a gap under my door. He tagged me on my big toe.

It happened... oh 5 months ago. I got a baby bp; during feeding I tried to stop him from getting out of his feeding box, he bit me on my middle finger. I was laughing. Dunno. And my latest was from another baby, but a corn, I took him out of his box and wham! on my thumb.

My first real bite was from an adult black rat snake. It bit me on the middle and index finger. It bled pretty good from what I remember. It was some years ago. The first 5 or so bites I received were all from adult black rats. My grandparents raised chickens. The hen house would always attract snakes.

Some of you got biten at the strangest parts, i can tell you my brother first snake bite, it was our first burmese python it was 4 foot at the time, We was feeding it and dusty my brother, drop a rat in the tank, not knowing it was the in prosition to seriously injuried our snake, so he stupidly put his hand in the tank, and our burmese mistakeing his hand, as the rat, till this day whenevever i feed my burmese, if my brother watch, i always tease him saying to stick his hand in the feeding tube lol.

My Blood was the 1st snake to bite me. I had for 5 yrs. before he did it. Tamest snake I own. Then one day, reached in to get his water bowl and he latched onto my hand. I ran to the neighbors house to get some good pics with their camera. He held on for at least 5-7 minutes. It's amazing how much you bleed from one of those bites.

My first real bite besides just a nip from small stuff was a few months ago.I had a mean aru scrub, the meanest,he would start striking everytime he saw you and not stop.During cage cleaning one night i remembered a scrub guy telling me he might calm down if i Didn't restrain him and acted like a branch...LoL..What a crock that was.As soon as i let go of his head he chomped my arm pretty good.
