In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Where is my dragon?!? It's lost!

How did USPS lose my poor beardie? :(

https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?qtc_tLabels1=eg868986504us

This is the tracking number in case the link above doesn't work: eg868986504us

Says it was shipped on the 27th & guaranteed arrival by noon on the 28th. It left Atlanta, GA but nothing after that for over a day? It's almost noon on the 29th now & USPS still hasn't found her!
If it's lost in GA & they find it then it might be okay right? I don't know how they do in that climate but if it's on some USPS truck here in AZ it is almost 110 degrees so she would likely be dead. :(
I guess it's out of my control & all I can do is wait to see.

I wonder how often this happens?
Has this happened to any of you?
Who was the carrier (USPS, Fed-Ex, or UPS)?
What was the outcome?
Did they find your dragon or lose it forever or did it arrive alive or dead?

you really shouldnt use usps to ship reptiles because of things like this. With heat like that it could cost the animal its life and there is nothing the seller will do because it was carrier error. Hopefully they find her soon. I have gotten bearded dragons and other lizards frogs insects throught ups and fedex other that them being an hour late once ive never had a package lost. I had roached shiped to me usps and they crushed the box how i dont know but luckily they did not kill any of the insects. Next time use ups or fedex

I've received 20 dragons in the past couple weeks & all came from UPS & Fed-Ex & all were here before 1030am most came earlier around 9am-10am. I've never received a dragon through USPS (I guess technically I still haven't).
I think I'll warn that seller to not use USPS ever again. I've had USPS lose regular packages before but still you'd think they'd be more careful with a guaranteed overnight live animal.

This is exactly why I don't use USPS for live shipments. FedEx and UPS are much more reliable.

They don't treat live shipments any different than they would any other shipment.

Poor thing....I hope it makes it, but the temps. are not in your favor on either end. The seller should refund shipping cost if it arrives alive, and the total cost if it is DOA.

Has the breeder contacted USPS ? I don't know if it would help at all, but the number for USPS is 1-800-275-8777. Explain to them that this is an emergency with a small live animal involved and you need to track your package.

Not sure if the breeder did but I did & I was told they would "research it" & call me back when they found out where it is. I'm just waiting for my phone to ring... :(

I've recieved a dragon through USPS before, it was a whole day late in the middle of winter. Sucked. Hope he's arrives healthy soon.

Try calling again...you may get a person who takes it more seriously or be more motivated....keep calling, be polite but businesslike and let them know this is urgent, that to you it's not just that the service is not what you paid for, but a live baby animal is in the box.

USPS is bad news for shipping live reptiles, you get better results shipping fedex or ups.

Who was the person shipping dragons USPS?

I do hope it arrives alive.

I hope so too. Thank goodness for hot/cold packs right?
The sender said he shipped her with a cold pack in an Styrofoam insulated box so hopefully that will be enough to combat the 107 degree temperature today.

The sender wasn't a breeder & is fairly inexperienced in shipping. It was my first time seeing him on this site.
The dragon he sold me is/was a lovely girl produced by the well known & respected breeder, Sbeardies (Southern Beardies), from which I have purchased 6 dragons all of which arrived early & in good shape.
He said he was unable to care for her as he purchased too many dragons & is going back to school. He's selling a few dragons on here.
He probably won't be shipping USPS again though!

Finally!

Well over a day late but she's here & appears to be healthy. Flaring up/gaping a bit & freaked out but 2-3 days in a box can do that to you. :p
She calmed down a bit after her lukewarm soak.

Just glad she's here!

Never again USPS! From this day forward I will find out who the seller intends to ship the dragon with & I refuse to buy any live animal from any seller who ships via USPS.
