In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey guys,
I just bought an 11 foot 50 pound albino green burm, she is a beauty. Turns out she has a mild respiratory infection. I have been through this before with another snake. When i went to the vet before, he tought me how to give the shots. Now I would prefer to not have to pay the vet fees again, being that i know how to give the shots and i know for sure its RI. I just need to know where to get baytril injectable. Please help! thanks!
Andy

I won't get into the whole respiratory infection spiel again, but the first thing you should be looking into is optimizing temperatures (if you haven't done so already) and possibly adjusting humidity. Turning to antibiotics for "mild" symptoms is not the wisest choice, especially when you don't know for a fact that there is an infection OR (if there is) what organism is causing it. Sure, antibiotics are often started without doing cultures, but that is part of the reason we are seeing more resistant pathogens. And personally, for a snake that size, I would prefer either a different antibiotic, or the higher strength solution of Baytril, because of the volume that would need to be injected.

Just because you "know" what the problem is, doesn't mean you shouldn't take your animal to the vet

My reply comes probably a little too late but you may consider it for the future. Tylan at the right dosage works very well to treat URI. It can be bought over the counter (it's in the fridge actually :) ) in the farm animal section of Runnings Farm and Fleet or any other chain that sells farm supplies. For a large burmese I would suggest buying Tylan 200 (200 mg/cc)

Regards
