    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm a snake owner, my girlfriend however absolutely fell in love with a veiled chameleon at the local petshop, I just barely persuaded her not to buy it (very fortunately, as it died a few days later). However, she's set on getting one. I have a... Problem? with getting attached to my animals. I saw the veiled had a life expectancy of 4-8 years... Are there any with significantly longer? Or is this about the expectancy for any chameleon? Thanks :)

lifespan

I think that the lifespan is about the same for all. Parsons may live a bit longer, but are much, much more expensive.

I can tell you I just bought 2 panther chameleons and I am very happy with them. They are very hardy, and the breeder is absolutely awesome to deal with. Not sure where you are located at, but chameleons 101, Eric Thompson, is 100% dependable, helpful, and available for any care questions.

The lifespan of any cham would largely depend upon it's history (and husbandry practices): whether it is a captive bred from a reputable breeder, flipped from a wholesaler, farmed or wild caught & imported & to whom.

Chams are particularly sensitive and some species have longer lifespans then others even in optimal condtions, from optimal breeders. I had a CB male Veiled that lived l little past 8 years.
That's pretty good even for CB common market cham coming from a reputable breeder.

5-Ish years is a good round about number. 2-3 more if you take really good care of it. Unless you want to pay for a XL LG or rare chameleon.
