    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I keep a few Leos and beardies, as well as a few other not very large lizards. I'm considering raising roaches for them. Crickets are just not what they used to be.

What do you guys who raise large numbers of roaches recommend as far as species and set ups? This is something I've not done much research into so I'm not too familiar with the ins and outs of roach breeding.

thanks

Dubia roaches are what ive been raising for the past year and they seem to suit me. They dont fly (although ive seen some males attempt to fly) they are sexually dimorphic, they dont bite, they breed fairly easily with the right setup, best of all they cant climb up smooth surfaces! They stay fairly small as adults also. Ive tried to raise up Giant hissers but theyve been a hassle for me compared to the dubias. they can climb up virtually anyting, they get big, and it took me forever to finally have them breed.

I have had a Dubia colony in my home for the last five years. They are super easy to breed and I get so many, I sell off the extras. They are just the right size for our Beardies.

All you need is a large tupperware container, a heat source (they need to be kept around 90 degrees to breed), some water crystals, ground up cheap cat food and egg crate.
