• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I am in the process of trying to find a few good, upstanding, respectable type reptile wholesalers. Been browsing the internet and comparing what I find with the info on the BOI. I have discovered that a good number of the wholesalers who come up in a Google search have some very questionable situations being talked about here on the BOI.

So, does anyone have a few suggestions on finding a non-scumbag live animal wholesaler?

Thanks!

good number

Subtract that number from your list. Do further research, and then put up an 'info' post on the BOI asking if anyone has ever does business with the particular company you are researching.
I would, for clarity, initiate one info post per company you are interested in, rather than presenting a list.

Plenty of good wholesalers out there. Problem that you run into is price. People want great quality animals for nothing. You won't get that from a honest wholesaler. As your paying for his guarantee and his quality. Now you can call certain wholesalers/importers up get crap animals dirt cheap. Don't have a live arrival guarantee let alone anything else. And you can get it a dollar over their cost. Or you can pay double the wholesalers price and get a quality animal that has been cared for and not just thrown in a tub. So plenty out there. But it all depends on what animals your looking for and what your willing to spend.
