    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Whoopsie!

I have this sand boa female I'm crazy over. Her name is Fran, or she goes by "the lovely Francesca". ( She's named after the actress who played Lady Jessica in "Dune". I joked about how silly a name it would be for a snake but it kinda stuck. So Fran it is. ) She's my first snake and my favorite sand boa. She's also the one with the best disposition. I've had her at a petting zoo my vet employer put on last summer and everybody, even the kids, were holding her she was so easy going. She's just a wonderful ambassador for her kind.

Well, I just took her for her first check-up at the herp vet I found in my area. Now Fran is this huge, sausage of a normal colored Kenyan. She eats well, sheds okay and pretty much gives me no problem whatsoever. The vet checked her out and said she was in perfect health. Oh! One more thing.

Fran is a FRANK!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I love the idea of naming sand boas after characters in Dune, that's very clever! Maybe you can change the name to Maud'Dib now that it's a boy. ;)

Hey, at least it's an easily changed name...

I was convinced that my first snakes were a brother/sister pair so I called them Magenta and Rifraf. Now I'm stuck with a male called Magenta... but actually it's kinda more Rocky Horror that way so it's cool.

What, no pictures of Frank? That's just not right. :NoNo:

Sounds like a neat snake. Too bad he didn't tun out to be the sex you bought him as. Guess if it's just a pet, it doesn't really matter though.

Pictures next time though, OK. :D

Oh! You want PICTURES! That's a dangerous thing to ask me since I'm a closet photographer. ( Anybody notice my avatar? That's not a professional pic. I just happened to snap the shutter at the exact right moment when my horses were playing in snow during the double blizzard this past winter. ) I also have TONS more pics on the cornsnakes forum where I'm known as Pal-O-Mine.

Anyway, let's see if this works.

Bring him and ask them while in a group, with your cousin Frank present that is, "Hey, you guys seen Frank?" And when they point him out, pull Frank out and say "NO, I mean FRANK". :D

I'd do that in a heartbeat with my family. They'd probably say, "you haven't changed one bit." But only my Mom or Sisters would be inclined to check him out.

That would probably work knowing my family. AS LONG AS MY MOTHER WASN'T THERE! You see she's one of those people who is absolutely TERRIFIED of snakes and is not interested in getting over it. However, for her birthday this year, I did write her an article about my childhood growing up with snakes and her fear of them. She did read and it and yes, she loved the article. There weren't any pictures!
