In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Who's here and what do you keep?

Man, I feel so puny now. HA HA HA I have a mere 2 Boas...............For now that is. :D 1.0 Salmon Hypo, het for coral albino, (My future project male). He is now going on 10 months, 32 in. and 302 Gr this weekend. And 0.1 Albino, an F3 from Kahl. I have had her for 7 years now. She is a big girl. (really big right now :hehe: ) And next month she should be having a litter of albinos from a Coral dad from Ihle. So I will hold back a couple of those for Myself.

Future goals................
0.1 Col. Anery het albino
0.1 Col. Arab het albino
1.0 Col. Motley (they are colombian right? I'll have to make sure first.)
1.0 Col. Striped (recessive type)

Use your imagination as to what I will be making with these. So many posibilities. LOL I do have a thing for the BCI Morphs. Particularly the albino forms. One day we will have a truly Leucistic Boa. I can't wait!

Rick

Rick, I have a beautiful adult male, proven genetic stripe, that I am preparing to sell. I had plans to breed him to a reverse strip and then breed the offspring together. It sounded like a fun project but I just have not gotten around to it. Anyways, here is a pic of him:

Bob,
that is a sweet looking stripe indeed. And also tempting, but I better decline for now. I have put myself in debt far beyond My initial plans with cages, racks, feeders, ect. Would hate to drag out a long payment plan, or sink myself with another loan.
Now if you still have Him in a few months, (not likely, but IF) than we can probably talk a little more serious about it. :) I just cant do anything till I get a better grasp on My fund situation.
I really appreciate the offer though, and I am sure He would be well worth the money, just wrong timing.

My small collection

got started because I had quite a few extra tarantulas to trade. I saw my first emerald tree boa yearlings (still orange) two years ago at the American Tarantula convention in Carlsbad, NM. I wanted one bad. I had to convince my wife and I could not lay out any cash. Ended up doing some trading for a male and female etb. My interest also ran to small boas due to space limitations and my current collection is as follows:
1.1 caulker cay
1.1 sonoran boa
0.1 Honduran boa (I'd like an unrelated male someday)

others
1.0 ball python
1.1 corn snakes (I've had these 10 years)
1.0 sonoran gopher

I was saddened by Laura's post revealing so much loss of life. As a newbie I would like some help in understanding what would cause such an undertaking. Those of you who speak "boa" probably know all about IBD. Can someone direct me to reliable information regarding this issue? Thanks in advance, John

Don't be sad John, bad things happen to good snakes all the time.... I try to do what I can to help other keepers avoid what happened to me. Here's a couple of links for you to get started and there's more info on the internet..

Hey, thanks Bryon. Have been told "when breeding BCI morphs, locale doesn't matter". LOL
Maybe not, but it is a choice that means something to Me.

He definately has one of the nicest stripes I have ever seen. I have not advertised him formally yet but may in the next month or two. I am only looking to recoup my initial investment which was $500 (I had purchased multiple animals and thus received a nice discount on the lot). I would let the pair go for $800. Just keep that in mind should your funds recover quicker than you anticipate.

Great Post..

We currently work with:

Boas:
Cay Caulkers
Hog Islands
Sonoran Deserts/Hypos
Orange Tail Hypos
Striped Boas

Waiting to get:
Corn Islands
Roatan Firebellies

Our focus has been on Dwarf boas, and we have been really enjoying them, I think everyone should have at least one dwarf in thier collection..

:) I love this forum, hopefully it will become more active.

I got sucked into the snake hobby with a normal male ball python, but my second snake (and all the rest of "mine") is a boa. My habit even infected my husband, who now has a green tree python.

My boas:
1.0 5 year old hog island
0.1 1.5 year old hog island
0.1 ~8 month old hypo BCI

I plan on obtaining a hypo male and/or an albino male as well for breeding with the hypo girl, and will hopefully be breeding the hoggies in the next year or two. What an addiction! I also love the way BCC look and have been tempted several times, but I'm trying to stick to my breeding "wants" first.

I only check this forum about once a week. I would be pleased to regularly check in but it is slow and I personally enjoy a faster pace. I am glad to see this topic however.
All I have reptilian wise is a bunch of BRB's and 1 Hog Island Boa. Numerous cats and 2 dogs also live here with me. It seems to me that all Forums are slower. Every where I go there are fewer posts.

Where is the other .86 adults, and .79 yearlings? ;) HA HA

That's a lot of snakes. But there are worse things to be obsessed with.

My paltry Boa collection.

Alas..............I am a true Boa addict however I seem to have ended up with
only two at this time.
1.1 Pastel redtails
They are beautiful, and I am planning to breed next year.
It will be the first time for them & I. Wish us luck.
The rest of my collection consists of: 2.2 normal Ball Pythons
1.0 Albino Burmese
