• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I had a member send me $50 through pay pal for holding 10,000 Dubia,,at that time he was a verified Pay Pal member.
He had to pay me by last night the balance which was several hundred $.
Now he is not Pay Pal verified and it tells me i am not seller protected.
Why do this? And what would you do??
Thank you very much

To me,it sounds as if i am gonna get it if i deal with this person.
Why would they take their bank out of the equation ?

Rich,

If you have concerns, you should go with how you feel.
To answer your question though, it may be something as innocuous as changing banks. I remember a year or two ago I left BOA and went with a credit union. I think I remember having to get re-verified and during that time of course was unverified.

Of course it may be something else and not as innocuous, maybe you could just ask this seller what's up?

Thanks for taking the time Lucille to answer this.
I am waiting before i refund his $. I get a bit cautious when dealing with several hundred $ and pay pal with live stuff.

Just looking to be sure of his intent. The money also came from his girlfriends account and not his own. This also worries me a little, but not much. My pay pal is in my wifes name that is the same as mine, where his name is different then hers.

Did you try asking the person why and see what their response is? Depending on what they say and how they word it, it may give you a better impression if you want to go forward with the deal?
good luck

This is the 1st with this situation so i needed to find out from you guys with the better knowledge.
Its a lot of money to worry about. For me anyways.
Thank you
Rich

I realize this reply is a little late but in case it still helps the OP or someone else in a similar situation:

He says its his wifes account. And her name doesnt match his.

Ask to have an email "signed" by the account holder and sent from the email address associated with PayPal account that very briefly describes what is being sent, the amount paid, and the address it is being sent too. Take note of the current email address associated with the account so you'll know if it's suddenly changed in response to your request.

This is what I do when the Paypal name doesn't match and so far there hasn't been any issues.

I just switched my PayPal from my savings account to my checking account in the same credit union, and until PayPal can send a few cents to that account and I verify it, my account is no longer verified. It will be in 3-4 days. It could be as simple as that.
