In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

WOO HOO!! Babies

Congrats, Rick! I've been following the Luis thread, though have refrained from commenting. I'm glad to hear she's safely dropped! :)

Congrats, glad mom is ok!!!

Well, I am thinking she WILL be, with some help from Me and the Vet. May have another factor yet to concider. :(

Haven't really had the chance to get a good look, but I have seen this before (judging by the pics) on rescues that have come to Me. I will have to look closer, right now she wants to eat Me. She is starving, and ready for ALL things that move. She almost got Me once too. LOL I gave her a huge rat I was saving for her. 500+ Gr. It did not last long at all. I am waiting for My rabbits. :( May have to go get some fresh killed rats in the mean time.

Thanks again for the replies. :D
Gotta go to the vet now.

Rick

Hopefully, she will come around quickly. The fact that she is taking food is a good thing. I have been curious about the progress of that thread, but have been unable to go back to check it out. Guess I'll have to suck it up, and pull it up if I get some free time tonite

I tell ya what Rick.....as of yet, I haven't been a "boa person", but those babies look like they could change that, lol!!!

So sorry to hear it looks like poor Aurora has yet another problem to deal with....but I'm sure she couldn't get better care anywhere. ;)

Congratulations Rick.
Aurora will be in my thoughts, hope she bounces back quickly.
Also hope any other problems are just as quickly resolved.
Beautiful babies :)

WOW! So many replies and views so fast. Thanks for the congrats. Cant wait till My next one. Should have My sunglow then. :D Then Tim wont have any doubt as to who is doing the yelling. :raspberry

I really don't think that "Peepers" is going to make it. :( Poor little thing is so scrawny, and I have noticed 3 times now, it gaping for breath. This really sucks. I hate to see an animal suffer, and I am half tempted to euthanize it. Man, it's such a bummer to be able to do nothing more than offer a warm hide, and wait. :bawling: :bawling:

Another one seems to be doing fine, but did not absorb its yolk either. Is this common place? I know some breeders don't even allow them to absorb before they disconnect and seperate, but I believe it's that way for a reason. Just curious.

Thanks again for the congrats everyone. I could not imagine a more pleasing experience. Unless it was coming up with some new morph or something. HA HA

Most breeders won't breed albino x albino boas due to probs with the babies. Mix in an RI and mouth rot and it gets worse. The albino gene has been worked over so much that HET x ALBINO is a stronger breeding . A couple years ago Jeremy Stone I believe posted on KS that his Albino x Albino litter was problematic to the point of the yolk hardening up in the bellies of some of the babies.
As for the eyes , that could be a genetic defect or the results of the infections in the momma if they are passable. If genetic the sucky part is the decision to just inform buyers of the defect found in he litter or euthanizing the litter.

Yeah, I know about the albino x albino thing. We started out as DH for sunglow if you recall, and I more or less hoped that since they were not closely related, there would be no problems like this. I was wrong, and have learned a lesson. I for one wont do any more albino x albino. I dont care for this ratio at all.
As for the defects, I don't have a need to hide anything. I will disclose all info about this incodence, the defects, everything to the buyers, if any are to be sold. I'm just that way.

Thanks for the advice BTW
Rick

Thats awesome Rick and to be respected as well . Many would just freeze off the defects and never mention it or sell at a " pet " price. I didn't notice the other thread till I posted lol. Still a sweet looking litter and I hope the probs get few and far between with it. Preferably the probs just get gone tho.

Wow, Rick. Congratulations! I hope they all do very well for you.

I'm not a boa person, but after looking at those pictures of the ones with the goofy eyes, I thought they looked like they had hemorrhaged or something--possibly from mom squishing them? Just a guess.

Anyway, I hope everything checks out okay at the vet's.

Thanks everyone. It's nice that ya'll are so supportive. I have been kicking Myself rather hard over this whole Luis ordeal. I should have just pulled her when I first told Him I was going to. First time I haven't followed through with a threat/promise in a long while, and now I get to pay for that as well.

Live and learn I guess. It's over with now, so I'll just concentrate on Aurora till she gets better. I recon if they pull through OK, and nothing comes up in the testing, than they will go as "pet only" snakes, and I'll come up with some agreement as to this, in writing. I think that's about all I can do. I can't bring Myself to euthanize them all if they are healthy. And quite a few look healthy as can be. Only time will tell. :D

Thanks again,
Rick

Congrats Rick, Im very happy everything worked out great. Not bad for her first time at all. The pictures were awsome. Keep me updated on how the mom and the babies are going. i would have loved to see the smile on your face when you first saw she was having them lol.

Congrats Rick! Hope all works out ok. Good looking babies there!

Hi Rick,

I've been lurking and reading the BOI thread to find out how it resolved itself, and you handled yourself with class. I'm very glad you got live, healthy babies; they are little stunners. (I can understand the excitement, too--I went around grinning like a fool when I got my first gecko eggs last month and they haven't even hatched yet!)

The pics were really interesting too; I've never seen good photos of boa birth before. So thank you for those. I hope Aurora gets better very quickly. Best wishes for your girl.

Rick, that's awesome! Congrats the litter!
