    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i was cleaning out my 4 enclosures today and my first one i noticed these little white dots attached to the bottom of the calcium dish. i havent cleaned my tanks in about a month so there were like 7-8 mealworm beatles crawling around. i looked closely and i saw a little white worm, looked like a maggot. i never had a problem with worms ever. the other 3 tanks were clean. you think it was mealworm larvae or i could have parasites?
 
i threw the whole calcium dish away. i was grossed out. i'll describe it more in depth. they were little white dots and i noticed them because i shook all the calcium out when i was going to clean it but these things wouldn't shake off. then i looked and i saw a little white worm, that looked like a mealworm. but what im worried about is that people say that baby mealworms arent visible to the naked eye. i only saw one worm move, and the rest looked like eggs or something because they were just stuck on there not moving. i feed my geckos only mealworms, i order them from reptilefood.com. im always careful about cleaning everything. but i havent cleaned the enclosures in a month, i was just very busy. also, the female is gravid so i have been using peat moss.
 
thanks, lol. im a little bit more relieved now. now my question is are hatchling mealworms visible to the naked eye?
 
They are visible, but are barely visible. they look like little yellowish-white dots (that when viewed closely)... are actually moving. I bred some mealies (beetles) last year and they take a while to grow, and when they hatch you can literally see thousands and thousands of them all over the place.
 
there were little white dots scattered in the calcium dish. but then there were even more under the paper towel attached to the glass. i'll keep everything monitered and hopefully it was just mealworms
 
unless the old mealies turned into beatles and laid eggs in that time i would have to say you found a freshly shed mealworm. they are very light in color, almost white. just a thought.
 
nevermind i reread your post and thed prob be much bigger than dots if it was just a freshly shed mealy.
